I voted EPCOT because that is where we were 4 years ago on the 4th. Anywhere except MK should be great. MK seems to be the most full on holidays. We enjoyed the America pavilion more that day both because of the show itself and listening to the Voices of Liberty. It just seemed the right place to be on America's birthday.
We have beem to MK a few times on the 4th and imho...way to crowded! Last time we did MGM on the 4th and it was great. Less crowds, awesome fireworks, souvenier popcorn buckets and drink cups with the date on them and also they gave everyone a small american flag pin to wear when entering the park that morning.
Last year we went to AK earlier in the day- we had very short wait times for everything, and ate in a virtually empty tusker house for lunch. We went to Epcot in the evening and had a nice , unrushed dinner at the Rose and Crown, and then stayed for illuminations. We heard MK was wall to wall people that day, as were the water parks.
I voted for EPCOT. Nothing seems more appropriate on the Fourth of July than watching the American Adventure and listening to the Voices of Liberty. Plus, you'll get your fireworks from Illuminations
Great question, we too are wondering what to do. Leaning towards Epcot at the moment but I would imagine that we'll change our minds umpteen times between now and then. Then we'll probably end up at Epcot anyway. Ah planning, what a troublesome life we lead.

Thanks for asking this question. I'm also going on my first trip during the 4th. I was leaning toward MK because of the "magic" factor, but I think I may have changed my mind. Can anyone be more specific about what happens at MGM? Do they do special fireworks after Fantasmic?
