Hi all,
I thought I had made up my mind about this, but now I want to ask the "experts"...and that is You!

We will have from 11:00 am until about 5:00 pm on the Saturday of MLK weekend. My mom is convinced that she doesn't like "amusement park" and so wouldn't entertain spending a few days after our cruise at the parks. During our time I would like to expose her to the Disney experience. which park would give her the best "taste" of WDW? She is about 62 years old and able bodies but I don't think it would be wise to wear her out completely.

Thanks!
Anne

...because you get more "bang for yer buck"!

No doubt about it.....MAGIC KINGDOM!!!

It's the first place we go when we get to WDW. It immediately gets us into the Disney frame of mind!

I suggest Epcot.

I was considering MK but it may be very crowded the Saturday of MLK weekend. Also at age 62, will she go on many rides?

I suggest Epcot as well. If she's not an 'amusement park' type, then I think Epcot would really pull her in, with all the restaurants and shops in the World Showcase, and a few thrill rides thrown in. I think it's the park for non-amusement park types. That and AK if she's an animal lover.

Another vote for the Kingdom! I have to say that I love all th parks and it is a hard decision. Especially with Epcot, it is a very close second on my charts. However, Magic Kingdom is Disney. You just can't go there and not visit the Magic Kingdom - at least not for me!

BUT, I will say this. Whichever park you decide will be wonderful! I hope you have a very Magical trip!

Epcot for sure. It's got all the magic without the 'amusement park' feel. And some great food too!

I picked Animal Kingdom. Magic Kingdom would have been first choice for a one day stay except it is a saturday and a holiday weekend. The place will be mobbed, so I choice a quieter park. Epcot would also be a good choice, but personally I like AK better.

Normally my first choice would be MK, too, but seeing as it is a holiday weekend, and a Saturday on top of that, I would think going to MK may turn her off more than on to WDW.

Epcot is really nice and you can take it at a slower case, enjoying the shops, restaurant, shows and rides. And don't forget to stay and see Illuminations.

My father in law was just here and my husband took he and our DD. They had a great time, and my FIL, who is in his 70's was really impressed, and he doesn't do amusement parks, either.

Next time he comes, AK is on our agenda.... my 92 yo grandmother likes that park the best.

Epcot...considering her age and the fact she doesnt like the Amusement park stuff...Epcot will give her a little learning aspect that is not theme park stuff and a chance to see different countries she might not have seen...plus a chance to just browse around and look at the different shops and eateries...

Normally my vote would be for my favorite park MK but with the holiday weekend and your mother being 62, I think Epcot might be more entertaining for her. It has so much to do, wonderful sights, great dining and it doesnt have the amusement park feeling she doesnt like.
Best of luck!!

I was about to post almost exactly what he said. Epcot is the place for non amusement park types and maybe she'd enjoy the world showcase shows?
