Only 2 1/2 weeks to go!

Please can anyone tell me which outlet village/complex they would recommend on International Drive/close by.
Looking for clothes/CD's mostly.

What is Walmart? Which is the closest to Universal Studios?
Are there prices really good?

Any advice please

Thanks

Hi cjc,

We liked Premier Outlet Mall, which has quite a variety of shops and is pleasant to walk around, as it's not all enclosed like other malls. Haven't tried Belz yet, which lots of people recommend. We also liked Florida Mall, which isn't an oulet mall, but we found lots of nice things much cheaper than at home.

We were disappointed that CDs didn't seem any cheaper han you can get them at home or on the net - but maybe we weren't looking in the right places. Hopefully someone else will tell us the best place in another response!

Walmart is like a bigger version of Asda (actually, they now own Asda!). You can buy almost anything there - from food and drink to rifles! Not sure which is the nearest to I Drive - as we stayed near 192. I'm sure someone else will reply with that info.

Have fun,

Julie

There is a super Walmart near I-Drive, I'm not sure of the exact location. I tend to use Walmart for tings like underwear, socks , work shirts (white cotton with a collar) and sometimes work trousers. They offer excellent value and if you're not a "fashion hound" they offer a reasonable choice.

For casual clothes I agree with the Premium outlet mall as an excellent choice. I also use World of Denim as they often have "clearance racks" of XXL stuff that help out yours truly. Belz still offers some bargains, if you're after Disney stuff for pressies to take home the Disney outlets in the malls offer some great savings and although a lot of the stuff there is "end of line" people in the UK have no idea of that LOL  . DKNY, Timberland and Liz Claibourne ( all in the Belz area) have some pretty good deals at times as well.

If you want to go really upmarket, or just an interesting window shopping trip, the Mall at the Millenium ( a couple of exits north of USF on I4 ) is definately worth a visit. Some top of the range shops and my DD told me the prices at Jimmy Choo shoes were a real bargain. I thought $500 for a pair of boots was a bit toppy, but I guess with £ at these levels it's not far off Russell and Bromley these days LOL.

Hi cjc

We also like the premium outlet mall, it's just further down I drive than sea world and has a good range of shops, but CD's in the record shops are similar prices to here when you add tax on. We tend to find cd prices at virgin mega store in downtown disney to be cheaper than here, watch out for the ones labeled "Import" as they have mostly come from the UK and are much dearer then if you buy them here.

Belz is really going down hill these days, lots of shops closed or closing down, The Mall @ Millenia is hurting them, so are all the rest to be honest.

Walmart is as was said Asda's owners, cd's dvd's (region 1) etc. are cheaper but I don't know of one near Universal, We only know the one on the east 192 Kissimmee near Medieval Times or the one @ Haines city on the US 27 miles away from you and not worth the petrol/time in savings.

The one thing about buying stuff at walmart is you can exchange/refund it at Asda if it goes wrong, but keep your receipt as they will need to know how much to refund as the exchange rate will have probably changed and you may end up getting less than you paid.

Have a really magical time

I still say hit belz for Gap and Reebok: I returned a pair of trousers I bought in a california Gap outlet and got two pairs of trousers, a hoody and some baby clothes for the $35, the belz prices are the lowest gap outlet we found in three states on this trip (and we visited about 8 gap outlets!). Also, reebok pricing at the till can bear no resemblance to that on the shelf - one pair of running shoes I bought cost $11.97 when they were marked at $39.99!! Even with the buy one get one half price deal they had that was low!

If you're looking for CD's buy them from www.cd-wow.co.uk Chart albums are £8, but prices will be going up on Sunday, thanks to the idiots at the BPI.

Another vote for Belz - I've had a lot of really good bargains there over the past few years, especially with trainers for the kids/teenagers.
As for Walmart - my fav shop! I could spend hours there just looking!

SUPERTARGET is well worth a visit if you are at Mall @ Millenia ( it's opposite to the entrance to the mall ) it's like Wallmart . We got lots of their own name kids clothes in Oct jeans tops etc for $5 / $6 an item and it was good quality cute gear. loads of cd/video/dvd's character toys etc. on unbeatable offers.

The nearest Walmart to Universal is on Kirkman Road, north of Universal. From I-Drive take the Kirkman Road turning (just past W&W) and keep going past the north entrance to Universal and on for about 6/7 miles. The Walmart is on your left and its MASSIVE!!

Many thanks for your help and recommendations.
I'm going to have great fun finding bargains - I hope
