I am trying to decide if I should go to WDW for 5 days in December (I can do it for around $1000.00), buy DL annual passes, do both or do neither. We need a new roof (having a wood roof in SoCal not good), just found termites, need to redo bathroom and replace some flooring. But, my husband works hard, and his birthday is Christmas Eve, so I am torn between doing something special for him and putting a project on the back burner for a few months, or just getting all the projects done. Any advice???

I said to but the DL APs....then fix the roof fixed.

It would bother me that I needed a major house repair and didn't get the work done because I went on vacation.

But, that's just me.

Definately fix the roof. Hopefully you can do that and still afford the DL passes -if so buy those and enjoy the year ahead!

Personally, I would take care of the roof first and put off any trips until the necessities were taken care of.

That will be done before our October trip to the NE - just can't risk another fire season with the wood shake roof. I just know it's a lot of $$$ to do, as are the other projects, so I feel guilty spending any money on any other trips. On the other hand, I want to do something special for my husband, especially since he got stuck with a Christmas Eve birthday (no parties, just an afterthought). We also haven't made it to WDW this year. Of course the DL APs would cost half as much, and we would have them for the 50th....UGH!!! Hence, the poll....

Fixing the roof is certainly the sensible thing::yes:: That said, we have had various home projects that have taken a back seat to some WDW trips.

I'd also agree with the majority and say do the home repairs.

We put off WDW this year because DH redid our kitchen and is now finishing up with building DS a basketball court . . .What was told to me as a "few hundred dollars" turned out to be more like a "couple thousand dollars" so out went WDW.

But, on the bright side, I have a brand new gorgeous kitchen and DS will have his basketball court. I miss WDW and I would love just to take off and go, but we are going in April so I'll have to wait until then.::yes::
