So we are planning a stay in March and considering the following options.

1. renting points for an AKV 1 bedroom
2. AOA suite
3. currently watching an auction for SSR for three nights for 850 one bedroom.

We will be me, DH, DD4, DD5 and DD 8 months old

What does everyone think??

I'd stay at an AoA suite for sure. Your kids would absolutely LOVE IT! :goodvibes

We visited all three resorts during our trip in September looking for economical room options. If you can get the point rental for the time you want to stay, our choice would definitely be AKV.

It's just our opinion, but things we liked about AKL include the beautiful pool and playground area, the compactness of the resort compared to SSR which seemed massively spread out, and the convenience of access to bus service. Of course having the animals right there adds something really neat, but that is a given, and appeals more to some than others. While a downside of AKL is that you have to take busses anywhere, that is the case for any of these three, except for SSR's boat to DTD, and at least the AKL busses only have two stops besides their destination (Jambo and Kidani, which are very close). We thought AoA had a very fun looking playground and pool area too, but we were more impressed by the deluxe amenities at AKL that with the point renting option it seemed we could get at little or no extra cost.

Either way, enjoy your trip!

I'd say AKV mostly for the full kitchen and washer & dryer. Just stayed at AoA, it is also very nice but I missed the kitchen which is great with little kids.

I think you should go with an AoA suite.

I stayed at AKV Kidani this past AUg, and while it was very beautiful and a very nice resort, it had some missing features. Besides bussing there is no other way to get anywhere. There is no real quickservice place to eat at Kidani - You had to walk 10-15 minutes to AKL/Jambo. It was very nice but a little inconvinient. (I wrote a trip report - tell me if you would like me to post the link)

SSR is really a great resort! at least 4-5 pools - 2 w/ slides, great QS, boat to DTD ect ect ... but you said your watching an auction???

AoA is new, greatly detailed and you can walk the POP, greats pools ect ect.

If SSR was easier to book I would pick that, but if not I would go with AoA!

Have a great time!

The Kidani one bedroom villa is AMAZING!!! :thumbsup2 It is seriously the nicest room I've ever stayed at on property. The master bedroom bathroom is HUGE, the kids will have their own bathroom off the kitchen, there are 2 pullouts in case your girls don't want to sleep together, you'll be BLOWN AWAY with how nice that villa is. I really can't say enough good things about it. I've stayed at almost every resort on property and you will love it. princess:

I haven't stayed at AoA, so I can't really give an opinion on that. I have stayed at SSR and I didn't care for it. Good luck making your choice! :)

hat, but if not I would go with AoA!

There is no other transportation at AoA except for buses as well, so that's a wash. As far as quick service dining, we ate at the Kidani pool for lunch and the food was good, but I agree they don't have much to offer. I recommend ordering grocery delivery if you plan to eat at the resort... for us it never mattered because we were always at the parks for lunch and dinner. We had breakfast in our villa, WeGoShop was our service. :)
