Which is your favorite, favorite room type, etc.. and why? We are in the planning mode for a trip in 08.

I would have to say my favorite is CBR. Based on price range, moderate resorts are what we normally feel comfortable forking out the $$$ for.
In comparison to the other moderate resorts (discluding Coronado) and the value resorts, we base our choice on a several factors that appeal to us.
* There are 'quiet pools' there that are generally just that--quiet.
* There are bus stops for each set of buildings, vs 1 stop at PO/Value resorts.
* We like the fact that it is centrally located.
* We find that there is plenty to do at the resort to occupy our down time there--pools, water craft rental, nice arcade, nice shop, 'beach' activities, nice relaxing bar for adults, etc
* The resort is fairly spread out...only 2 stories 2 a building.
* It seems to be quieter than the values. We have found that there just seem to be more kids at value resorts and always seem to be groups of high school/middle school age kids--bands, cheerleaders, choirs, church groups--where the kids far out number the adults.
* There seems to be better bus service--particularly FROM the parks.

Anyway, there are my .02. Take them for what they are worth.:)

I've only stayed at the WL, but the Poly is my upcoming trip (14 Days :woohoo:) Other than those two, I really like the GF. :)

My favorite is definitely the AKL! I like the fact that it is all one building with no complex layout. The setting is beautiful with the animals, music, and architecture. The beds are large and there are always little tours and extra things to do. The bus system is especially nice, since it is one stop and does not share with other resorts, and it's always pretty efficient. Also, the resort has a large pool and two great restaurants.

However, I definitely know that some years a deluxe resort is just out of price range. So in that case, my second place goes to CSR. Not nearly as confusing as CBR, with a better pool, theme, and bus system. I stayed in Casitas 1 and loved it. It was very beautiful and 2 minutes away from the main building. If I ever had to stay anywhere other than AKL it would be CSR.

The Polynesian, love it! Unfortunately because of flight costs from the UK, we can't afford to stay there every year.

CSR!! Check out my CSR website below for reasons why (pics and info).

I must admit I have 2 favorites....

AKL Savannah view

and

Contemp Bay Lake view.

Now, the first might seem obvious, given my siggie.

The second I'm guessing is going to inspire some "huh?" from readers, so I'll explain why I chose THAT view and not the MK view.

Look, I LOVE the MK views...fireworks, etc, but the views of bay lake, and the electrical water pageant, just instill such nostalgia in me that they win out over the more popular MK views. Those views are what I think of when I think of the Contemp....

For a mod I, too, would go with CSR.

We have only stayed at 2 resorts....ASMo in 2002 and CBR over Christmas 2006, and though we liked both, our favorite is CBR, we loved the tropical feel, and hearing Christmas carols on steel drums was awesome, can't wait to go back!

We've only stayed at POR and CBR, and we absolutely love CBR! We love the beautiful tropical themeing, the white sandy beaches with hammocks, the friendly ducks, and the vibrant colors/music.

If we are going around the holidays it is WL...that place is gorgeous!

Any other time of the year we love the Swan, great place, AMAZING beds and fantastic location

Honestly, it is very hard to choose. I think POR and WL are tied for 1st for me, with WL possibly slightly ahead, due to it's location, transportation and everything being under one roof.

I've stayed at the Swan, Dolphin, and Yacht Club as well, though the YC was just for one night so I didn't get a great feel of the place. They have a great location, but I think the S/D are missing a little Disney magic, which I did miss.

Next time, I want to try something new, maybe the Beach Club or Contemporary.

With kids: Favorite resort is BC (close 2nd is Poly....).
Without kids: Favorite resort is BWI.

Reasons: Transportation to parks is a big issue for us because we have been taking our twins to Disney since they were 7 mos old. Having the double stroller/jogger sort of makes us want to avoid buses or cars, so we choose resorts on the monorail or in the Epcot loop. Having tried several resorts, BC is our favorite because of the atmosphere and location and pool. There is a sandy pool area that is great for small children. The atmosphere is bright, cheery, and gorgeous. There is a walkway that leads straight into Epcot (about a 5 minute walk). Also a walkway to the Boardwalk where you can continue walking around a loop right back to BC. Also a walkway to MGM, or else take the boat to MGM. We love having so many things to do, so many options for dinner, all within walking distance.

BWI is a great resort, but we think we'd enjoy it better if we stayed without kids. Don't get me wrong, the pool is kid-friendly, but the area is full of things to do that would be fun adult-things (a few dance clubs, ESPN Club too).

So check out the Epcot resorts (BC, BWI, YC).

depends upon my mood

value - Pop Century (always)

moderate - POR or CSR

deluxe - WL, Polyn or BC

DVC - OKW, VWL or BCV (might change to AKV)

Definately the Beach Club. Epcot is our favorite park and we just love the location and Stormalong Bay.

Jennifer

Without question, AKL is our favorite. The theming, the activities, the quietness....it's like a slice of peaceful heaven in the chaos of the parks.
