KatMark- Is there a rainforest cafe downtown Chicago? Just curious because my husband and I may be going for a couple of days.

Yes, there is. There is one in Downtown Chicago, one in Gurnee by Gurnee Mills and one at Woofield Mall in Schaumburg.

There is no ADRs for lunch.

Correction then: There are too many MEALS planned. You dont need more than two sitdown meals a day. It is WAY too much food and cuts back on park time and relaxation time. I would eliminate either breakfast or lunch each day. I would also get rid of Rainforest Cafe as the food isnt that great there unless you want to go for the atmosphere.

Hands down RFC. We have one about 45 mins away from us, so I would give that up in a second.

I voted for Rainforest too. The first time we went several years ago I thought it was great. We all enjoyed the atmosphere (even though it is very loud) and we thought the food was good too. When we went last year though everything was terrible. It seemed even louder inside to the point where we could barely hear one another and the food was really just awful.

I was sick over the cost of it considering how horrible the whole experience was. It is really overpriced. So, that would definitely get my vote for a cancellation.

I would also cancel the Rainforest Cafe if it were me. And probably LTT which I personally just don't think is that great--although my dd loves it so we usually go at least once. I do have to say that we love the Restaurant Marakesh although the Tangierine Cafe is one of our favorite CS's and would be a good alternative.

I do agree with other posters that for my family, it would just be too many ADR's. We don't really like to be tied to being a certain place at a certain time so just one TS ADR per day is plenty for us--otherwise it seems like we're spending all our time getting to our next reservation and we're not really hungry by the time we get there--we usually only eat one big meal per day and that's usually at lunch. You've been several times before, though, so I'm sure you know your preferences best. ;) I think folks were just trying to point out that your ADR's will require a pretty big time commitment which would be a huge consideration for me. I'm wrangling teens when I go, though--it's hard enough for me to get them to one restaurant per day at a certain time. :rotfl:

I know I have already voted, but I just wanted to defend you against everyone. You do NOT have too many ADRS! Why are there so many people saying that you do?! Most of the days you only have ONE! And the days where you have more than one you just have for breakfast and then a dinner. I have no idea why everyone is telling you that you have too many... it is just your husband and you--2 adults--who can obviously handle two nice meals a day on vacation.
Either everyone isn't fully reading your itinerary, or they assume Mara and Counterservice is a brand new disney TS restaurant (:confused3 ), or they don't realize that Brody, Phoenix, and Zelda are animals.

BTW, dump Rainforest Cafe.

Where are you getting 3 sit down meals a day? There isnt 1 day where theres 3 TS meals. They are either 1 TS and 2 CS or 2 TS and 1 CS :confused3 CS doesnt count as a sit down meal. Sit down melas are TS. Not CS.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for your post!!! You hit it right on the nail! Maybe people will read your post and listen to you. Cuz it obvious they arent listening to me or even actually reading my posts. Why on earth would someone think Brody is my actual son is beyond me! :rotfl: Hello, theres a PLUTO icon next to his name! :rotfl: And come on...Mara and Counterservice is just that - CS. NOT TS.

I know we can handle 2 TS meals a day. We did it last time we went to Disney in 2003. And all the other times I went to Disney with my sister...did the same thing to. Anyways, thanks again for your post!

We have two rainforests near us at home, and they both stink. Boring, plain, not Disney quality, in my opinion. Again, just my opinion...
If I had to pick another, I'd pick Marrakesh. Food was just ok, servers were just ok. Different type of experience, cool to try once, but we wouldn't do it again if there were other options.

I agree! I don't know if you've been in August before, but we found the heat really curbed our appetites and we're big eaters! Any reason why you're not on the DP considering how many restaurants you're plannng on visiting? Just curious....

No problem! I was reading the thread with my mouth open and I just had to say something. My dbf and I like eating 2 ts meals a day when we can and if we just order what we want it is not too much. Plus, we have been there before as well and never had to cut back on things to do--like you two, we always get things done!
Well... in a sense brody IS your son. He is just furry, eats food from a bowl, licks his behind and lays on your lap all day.... what? its the same!

Nope havent been in August..but have been in July 4 out of the 5 times I've been so far, and July is HOT as well!

Not doing the DDP because...
1 - We dont like it

2 - I dont wanna have to be constantly checking my credits and recepits

3 - The plan would only save us $200 and that is if we actually order everything I have figured out, order deserts (which we HARDLY ever do, even here at home), eat snacks 2 times a day and actually eat lunches. While DH will probably eat lunch - I just might want a small snack. So in the end, we could end up paying more being on the DDP.

4 - We have to take cash with us anyways for any meals that arent covered by the DDP, any meals that we have to pay OOP because of not enough credits, tips and any carts that dont take credit cards or KTW cards.

:lmao: :lmao: He does tricks to! He knows how to sit, stand, lay down and spin on command :) Yes it took a long time to train him, but hey, we got it done!

Hey! No point in making fun of rie'smom just because she didn't pick up on your 'Pluto' icon....I didn't either at first and thought you had a son and two kitties!

You've been around here long enough to know that almost every thread vears off in crazy directions. I think everyone was just trying to help you make dining decisions and commenting that you may find your schedule too much. Your responses are the only 'testy' ones. :confused3

Enjoy your trip....eat yourself silly....it's all good! :thumbsup2

OK I'm going to stick my neck out and be different & say I don't think you have too many ADR's.
We actually probably have even more than you!!!!;)
We use our TS time as our rest time instead of going back to the hotel (no little children here). Also we were less than impressed with the CS's we had last time so we would rather share a TS meal at lunchtime when we are not that hungry than do a CS.
The only comment I would have in regards to your ADR's is that your dinner times would be way too early/too soon after lunch for us.Our dinner ADR's are all around the 7-8pm except for our MMVMCP night. But then again we are doing what you said you are doing and that is eating around the same time as you would at home. So that makes good sense to me. :thumbsup2

No making fun here. I just found it funny. And hey, Im not the one whos taking the thread and turning it into a debate thread. I simply asked which ones would you cancel. I didnt ask if you all thought I booked to much. And come on, Brody is a DOGs name. Not a persons name. I've never heard of someone named Brody thats a person.

Just a reminder..this is NOT a debate thread. I just want to know which ones would you cancel. Thats it. Nothing more, nothing less! :thumbsup2

I know someone with a son named Brody...it's not just a dog's name...:confused3

Meet BRODY Jenner, he is really cute, but not a dog.

Also my nephew's best friend is Brody and he is a person too.

OK so Brody is a persons name to..but still doesnt take away the fact I have a pluto icon next to Brody's name. That should hint that he's a dog. :confused3

Yes, it should...but not everyone (including me) noticed or is aware that you don't have kids but animals. It was an honest mistake and rather than laughing about it, it felt like you were laughing at the poster who just didn't take notice of that fact. Guess I'm sensitive to it because I thought the same thing and felt like you were laughing at me as well....using capitals and going on and on like everyone should know you don't have kids...:confused3
