I am planning my visit next month.
In general, which rides have the longest line or wait time ?
I would like to get on those ride first early in the morning. Or are any of these ride actually get less crowded later in the day ?

Thanks

Which park?

I'd reccomend getting the passporter. They have all that information in a wonderful and easy to read format.

Here is what we consider the Biggies from our past trips. These generally are the rides we either hit first thing in the am, wait until E-ride night (MK only) or avoid completely:

MK:
Splash Mtn
Big Thunder
Space Mountain
Buzz Lightyear
--One side note, our DS is 9 so we usually don't venture much into Fantasyland so I can't really say which rides would have the longest waits. Mickey's Philharmagic is new so I'd assume that one would qualify. Although we did this with no wait w/a FP the second week of July.

Epcot:
Mission Space
Test Track

MGM:
Rock N Roller Coaster
Tower of Terror
Star Tours (Not quite as long a wait as RnR or ToT)

AK:
Kali River Rapids
Dinosaur
Safari
It's Tough to Be a Bug (Loads a lot of people at a time, so not as bad.)

Have a great trip and use Fastpass, especially if you're going during a busy/hot,humid time--which August is sure to be.

I agree with KJal1's list. I will add the following:

Fantasyland:
Dumbo
Peter Pan
Pooh

Tomorrowland:
Indy Speedway

EPCOT:
Malestrom (sp)

These always seem to have very long lines.

There are some rides that have longer wait periods and are not necessarily the most popular rides. The Dumbo line moves slowly, so we only do that one right at opening, usually on an EE day. Only something like 24 people max can ride Dumbo and it takes a while to load and unload.

The other big rides are the Mountains (Splash, Space and Big Thunder) and Buzz Lightyear at MK; RnR and ToT at MGM; Test Track and Mission Space at Epcot.

For many of these you should get Fastpass, and pay close attention to what time you are allowed to get another fastpass. Get a second fastpass before you go on the first fastpass ride.

I know for sure that Spaceship Earth at Epcot has a much shorter line in the late afternoon. We just walked on. We also didn't wait at all for the Mexico boatride or Maelstrom (with a fastpass).

Thanks, KJal1, Serenity and Sherri.
As Sherri said, I think knowing which have longer wait is as important as knowing which are the popular. The popular ones are those we will not want to miss. And long waiting rides, we will go early as possible or during EE.

And it is also nice to know Spaceship Earth has shorter line in the afternoon.

Thanks again. Anybody has any extra to addon, please do.

I really agree with marykatesmom. ..you might want to consider the Passporter or, my absolute favorite, The Unofficial Guide. You'll gain a ton of information about minimizing your wait times and much, much, more.
