Which one would you choose?

DH wants to add a TS dinner with Mexican food into our schedule. Been to La Hacienda once when they first opened and it was nothing to get excited about. Been to San Angel Inn for lunch a few times and it was good but never been for dinner.

LH hasnt changed the menu since they opened and SAI seems to have a new menu.

So which would you try and why? Or which would you stay away from and why

La Hacienda has to some extent changed its menu since it opened. The first two times I ate there, fish tacos were not on the menu, but they are now. I don't know about any other differences.

We're in the same boat as you. We've been to San Angel several times for lunch and we like it a lot. We went to La Hacienda on our last visit and found the meal disappointing and bland. I do think we'll try La Hacienda again at some point in the future, but I would choose San Angel over La Hacienda right now.

We have done La Hacienda several times when they first opened and we LOVED it. I say go where the menu items look best to you!! (I know that was not an option but that is always my advice!! Everyone likes so many different things that I always find it best to look at the menu and go from there)

They are operated by the same people. It's the same food to me, I voted based on atmosphere, where San Angel Inn wins out for me, being inside and having more character. We found our dinner at La Hacienda to be pretty bland and blah and the service was poor.

I'd do San Angel just because it has a fun atmosphere!
