I read your posts all the time and love just about anything you have to say about food... simply because, for me, you are almost always spot-on ! (IMHO, of course)
So to read that you have never been to "The R. & C." is kind of a shocker.... You've gotta' try it !
(try to follow this) My step-son's, wife's, parents, are from the U.K., and their parents are still there, and are still living (twisted - isn't it !) They go back to visit them at least twice a year. Last year they were at WDW for the first time, and ate at "The R. & C." and they absolutely loved it.... They both swore that they felt, "...just like being at home...."
Again, IMHO, you've gotta' try it ! I spent some time in the U.K. and really enjoyed the food. I believe that the "lunch" menu is actually better then the "dinner" menu, but with the way the restaurants at WDW have been heading lately - in most cases - the lunch and dinner menus are beginning to look quite similar....
Have Fun !
