I need to eliminate one of these restaurants.... I've never been to any of them so any help would be appreciated.

Chef Mickey's
Sci Fi Dine In
Whispering Canyon Cafe
1900 Park Fare
Le Cellier
Coral Reef

It will be DH, DD(4) and DD(1), plus me. Husband is a fan of steak and is a very picky eater. DD is a princessaholic, and is somewhat picky, although almost all the kids meals look the same.

Anyways, we'll be in the dining plan so price isn't a big deal.

TIA,
Erin

I have not eaten at Whispering Canyon, but have been at the others. I would say cut out Sci Fi. Not impressed!:sad2:

Chef Mickey's- a MUST

Sci Fi Dine In..no idea...never been

Whispering Canyon Cafe-no idea...never been

1900 Park Fare. - a MUST

Le Cellier --YUMMY, a tad fancy-go early if going with the kids..YUMMY@!!!

Coral Reef-no idea

Sci Fi definetly....the food was OK, but sitting with your back to your family was not enjoyable!!
We love Whispering Canyon!!!! And Le Cellier!!!!!!

I would also drop Sci-fi. But only if I had to drop one. My kids hated the pizza that was offered in the Coral Reef but you can order something else.

Although the novelity of sitting & eating in a "car" at a "drive in" seems cool, I would drop Sci-Fi. My DH and DS (8 at the time) both vowed to never return. :scared: On the other hand, we really enjoyed your other choices! :upsidedow

Chef Mickey's-Didn't care for their breakfast
Sci Fi Dine In-never been
Whispering Canyon Cafe-didn't care for their dinner
1900 Park Fare-never been
Le Cellier-never been
Coral Reef-never been

Been to all of them (many of them multiple times) and would vote to drop Sci-Fi. My kids all hate it and have asked to never return.

I have been to all - and I would say drop the CORAL REEF - if you are paying OOP - definetly not worth the price.
The atmostphere ok but we did not like the food ....

Another vote for eliminating Sci FI. The way the cars are setup and the dark theater, it may not be the best (or the easiest) for a 1yo

In with everyone else. Sci Fi should go.

I think it depends, do you have park hoppers? If not, how many days are you going to each park? Right now you have 2 Epcots, are you planning on two epcot days? The others are in resorts so you have more flexibility there.

If you have to eat somewhere at MGM, Sci Fi's ok. The food wasn't the best but my kids had fun. They liked their flashing ice cubes and sitting in the car. You could do Sci FI out of pocket for lunch and just get basics, they have good onion rings and shakes. Then keep the rest on the DDP.

I'll join the chorus. I haven't eaten at every restaurant on your list, but I'm pretty confident in saying that you should drop Sci-Fi. If you really want to experience the theming (car, movies, etc) then make an ADR for a day when you're in MGM, but then only eat dessert there. The meals aren't worth it.

Thanks for all the help. Does anyone know how big of a pain it is to eat at a resort that you're not staying at? I'm not too worried about the resorts on the monorail, but I was wondering about eating at Whispering Canyon. That's one of the places I want to go the most, but I'm not sure how easy it will be using disney transportation with the kids. Any thoughts?

Depending on where you are staying you could go to the nearest park or DTD and then transfer to the bus for Widlerness Lodge. You can also take the boat from the entrance to the MK directly to WL. Both are easy to do. Just allow yourself enough time in case you have to wait for a bus or boat.

I vote to drop Sci Fi....mainly due to the ages of your kids and the seating arrangement in the "cars". Foodwise, it's one of our least favorite Disney restaurants, too. Not horrible--just pricey for what you get-- nothing special.:hippie:

Drop Sci-Fi... It is a fun place to dine but it is a hit/miss as far as the quaility of food goes.

It is no big deal. We ate at two others and just showed parking pass/scanned our card to gain entry and then went inside to eat. When we ate at Boma's it was really nice, because we could go look at the animals.

It is not hard. Remember WDW transportation is the easiest way to get around.
