Which one for date night?

We'll have one night for just the 2 of us. We never go on a nice date night so I'm excited and want my DH to have a really nice dinner. I'm thinking either The Boathouse, so we can hang out at Disney Springs afterward, Narcoossee's or Cali Grill so we can go to MK or Epcot. We'll be using the DP and I know some are 2 credits but we'll save the credit's for it.

My DH is a steak and potato kind of guy and I love seafood and pasta. He hates dressing up so he won't want anything to fancy.

At first I was looking at The Yachtsman or Jinko but I don't want to waste precious time travelling to the hotels and then to a park or DS.

So what do you guys think? Any other suggestions? Any food pics?

All of them are kinda dressy except maybe the Boathouse might be more casual since it's at DS and a boaty theme. Cali Grill is really dressy and I heard Narcoossee's is too. Jiko was pretty dressy. Not sure about Yachtsman but it's a signature and they all have a dress code but I think golf shorts and a polo might work at the Boathouse.

I'll be packing his nice jeans and a button up long sleeve shirt. That's as dressed up as he'll ever get. He even wore jeans to our wedding! Lol. Hmm...maybe I should rethink my choices...

Yachtsman is extremely close to Epcot if you're worried about transportation, and I like it better than Narcoossees, but CA Grill is my favorite.

Narcoossee's is excellent and isn't as dressy as you might be led to believe. A nice shirt with nice jeans is fine. I'm pretty sure that's what my DH wore last Nov when we went there. We had an ADR during the MK fireworks and the view was beautiful. The food was great and the service was wonderful. We've had ADRs for CG and BH on different trips but have ended up canceling bc they didn't end up working into our schedule. I've heard good things about both. We managed to snag a ADR for BOG for the date night we had on our trip in Nov and it was actually really nice. I know everyone loves BOG (so do I) but I was worried it wouldn't be "adult" enough for a date night. It was great and the food was much better than the last time we had been.

I think you can do the call grill and watch the fireworks in a nice shirt and jeans or nice shorts. You can watch the fireworks at mk too.

Or dinner at Epcot is good too then have a glass of sparkling wine and watch the fireworks

Nice jeans and a button down should be fine at all of them. Even at Cali Grill, my BIL wore khaki shorts and a polo. They just don't want you in there in baskeball shorts and tank tops.

Yachtsman is not far at all from Epcot's World Showcase. It's about a 7 minute walk from the park exit (if that). I'm not sure if that was a top pick for you, but just as an FYI, it's no big deal to get to.

There is a lot to see and do over at Disney Springs now. It's a good place to wander. I've heard it's very loud in the Boathouse though. But we got an AWESOME little table out by the water at the bar on the dock. You can order food out there too...so that might be neat for a date night

We're staying at AoA. It was the best option since there's 5 of us. (After 3 resort changes, ugh!)
I'm so excited for our date night. I only have to wait until December and spend $4000 but it'll be so worth it!
I think I'll show my DH the menus for Yachtsman and The Boathouse and let him choose. Although, knowing him he'll say either one is fine with him, lol

Just wondering if you thought about Artist Point at WL. It's a short boat ride away from MK and tends to be a relaxing, quiet restaurant with delicious food and wonderful service. The dress code for signatures is as follows and is not really all that dressy:

“Men: Khakis, slacks, jeans, dress shorts, collared shirts. Sport coats are optional.
Ladies: Capris, skirts, dresses, jeans, dress shorts.

Not permitted in dining room: Tank tops, swimwear, hats for gentleman, cut offs, or torn clothing. While T-shirts are now allowed, the policy remains that T-shirts with offensive language or graphics are not acceptable.”

I hadn't thought about AP but I'm going to check it out. I've alway been curious about WL. I'm originally from the coast in Northern California and I miss trees like crazy!

I love date night disney plans. My man can't dress either and we love Narcosses!! Make a Rez for 8pm and watch the fireworks with dessert at 9.It's fun and special. After you can take a boat to MK, which is located right by the restaurant. Pick a night where MK is open late for EMH.

V&A is the only restaurant, I believe, with a strict dress code. We've been to several other signature after a long day at the park in shorts and t-shirts, it was never a problem, but we did seem to get a few wondering eyes from those that clearly wanted it to be a formal occasion for them. But we get that a lot, we like to enjoy the good food, but can only pack so much into a short trip, that going back to the hotel to spend an hour to get ready to go to one restaurant is not in any of my plans. Your husband is not alone. Our last trip we went to the Yachtsman, and everyone was dressed like they were going to church on Easter Sunday, and I felt like we just got off the Kali river rapids.

We have done Cali Grill for date night... I think I wore white pants and a cute top, DH wore nice cargo shorts and a nice polo shirt. After the fireworks we went into MK for eve. emh.... it was super fun but not restful.

On other date nights we have done Les Chefs and Marrakesh in Epcot when our kids were little so they could stay at Beach Club child care. We more recently went to Jiko and I'd have to say that was probably our quietest, most adult meal ever at WDW. We did not dress up a lot, I wore a casual skirt, DH again cargos and a nice shirt. After we went to HS for the late running of F!

So you don't need to be super dressed up for anywhere really except V&A. It's just what you make of it.

If your husband is a meat and potatoes guy, as am I, and you want to go to Epcot in the evening why not Le Cellier or Chefs de France. Both have great meat options. Le Cellier is a steakhouse. Both are worth it and then you don't have to worry about double the travel time.

Honestly, if he is a meat and potatoes guy, I would say Raglan Road at DTD! Not a romantic place per se, but it is lovely, the food is very good, it has drinks (so is largely an adult crowd,) and has traditional entertainment!

What month are you coming in . It's hot here... and then its hot and humid.. then hotter and humider... I could go on and on.....

But I would nix the jeans, nice shorts and a polo or short sleeve button down will be fine. I would go with the boathouse,(or raglan road) and hanging out at DS, since the Town center opened there is quite a lot to see, and there is music at night all over. So.... go on hold hands, and adult beverage in the other and enjoy your night.. your date night.

I would do The Boathouse for the atmosphere and live entertainment.
