Currently I have Cape May booked for breakfast. However I'm now rethinking it after taking a closer look at the breakfast menus. The 1900 PF menu has many more choices than does Cape May. But, we've already got a dinner scheduled at 1900 PF earlier in the week. And a few days ago I switched one of our meals to LTT (because they're discontinuing the character dinner) so we'll see some of the same characters at LTT and at Cape May. I know at 1900 PF the characters at breakfast and dinner are different. It would be nice to see Alice, Mad Hatter and Mary Poppins without having to stand in line in the parks. Besides, I don't think I've ever seen Mary Poppins out in MK or Epcot.

So what would you do?? Which breakfast do you like better?

Thanks!

Personally I love Cape May...I think the food is good and I like the characters. Also, I tend to stay at EPCOT resorts (this year I'm at BWV) and Cape May is very convenient to get to first thing in the morning...

I'm not sure if you have kids, but if you have girls they would probably enjoy seeing the characters at 1900. It's been a long time since I've been at 1900- but I remember it was a nice restuarant and the food was good.

Also, it comes to convenience. Where are you staying? Which park will you be going to after breakfast? Sometimes ease of getting to and from a restaurant is a big deciding factor. If you're planning on going to MK that day then I would say go to 1900 - this way it's a quick monorail ride after breakfast to MK.

If you're staying at an EPCOT hotel then Cape May is nice in that you can leave your room 15 minutes before your ressie so you can get a bit more sleep and don't have to worry about dealing with buses. And then take a park bus from BC. Or if you're going to EPCOT or DHS that day you can take the boat or walk from Cape May.

I think they are both good choices. For me a major deciding factor would be which works best for my plans that day.

A friend of mine at work feels the Cape May Breakfast is the best on in all of Disney. That being said, we are having dinner at 1900 on our arrival day and breakfast there on the departure day. I haven't ever been to Cape May or 1900 so I can not speak from personal experience!

We LOVE Cape May....we make sure we do a breakfast there every year as it's one of our favorites :). We haven't had breakfast at 1900 Park Fare but we did dinner there a few years ago and didn't have a very good experience so we haven't been back :sad2:. But we love Cape May and always make sure we go atleast once every trip :dance3:.

We have done both at prefer Cape May...1900 Park Faire was terrible, horrible food, horrible character interaction and the noise level is out of control

It is so funny how different people and at different times can have such polar opposite opinions. I would have posted the exact opposite as above.

We love Park Fare, think the character interactions were fabulous and loved the food. In fact, in our book it beat CRT by a landslide.

Cape May, we just do not like at any meal.

Bottom line, look at the menus and characters and go with your gut and you will probably choose correctly.

I never did the Cape May. Had reservations for it but decided to cancel. It was just because of the travel time from the GF there and other plans we had for the day. I would like to try it on another trip. We did however do breakfast at 1900 Park Fare and we also did the dinner there. Both were AWESOME! Even though you are eating in the same place, the characters are different and 1 is breakfast and 1 is dinner. The breakfast bar at 1900 has great variety. Alot to choose from. We had great service and enjoyed the food and the character interaction with Pooh, Tigger, Alice, MadHatter and Mary Poppins. 1900 for both breakfast and dinner are must dos on our repeat visits we have planned for WDW and our stay @ the GF.

I don't think you can go wrong with either place. If it were me, I'd go with the one that's located closer to the park I'm heading to after breakfast. If my plan was for MK that day, then I'd go with 1900. If I were going to EPCOT or DHS, I'd choose Cape May. For AK, it's a toss-up.

My wife and I love the Cape May Character Breakfast. The atmosphere is fairly subdued and the food is excellent.

Those are my two favorite character breakfasts in all of WDW (and I have done them all numerous times). Cape May's buffet isn't quite as vast as 1900's but it has a ton of choices. Other than the strawberry soup and omlette station, I can't think of anything else 1900 has over Cape May's. Cape May's is lively but not as noisy as 1900. I love 1900, but that room gets deafening at times. Cape May is smaller and it just doesn't get as noisy.

I would pick the one that fits in with that day's touring plans. If you are going to Epcot or MGM, go with Cape May. If you are going to MK, go with 1900. Although since you have a 1900 for dinner (also very good, love that one) I would probably go with Cape May. Beach Club is a beautful and its nice to experience the various resorts.

And also know that all characters are subject to change. I have been to 1900 about six times for breakfast and two of those times Mary wasn't there. It can and does happen that "featured" characters won't be there because of illness or whatever. If you go with Cape May, you can see Mary Poppins in England at Epcot and at the MK, often on Main Street near Tony's, other times I have seen her back by the carousel in Fantasyland. I have also seen her several times at Disney Studio's. If you check with guest services at each park, they can direct you to when and where characters are likely to be seen. Its also on the times guide you get at the turnstiles. Mary is a big must have autograph and picture for dd and we have been able to find her in all ten trips to WDW even when we don't go to 1900's breakfast!

ok here goes. transportation question- sorry. we are staying at ASMO. If we book breakfast at Cape May how would we get there? I was planning one day having breakfast at 1900 Park Fare and of course would take the bus to MK then take the boat. Sorry if this is a stupid question. But Cape May sounds like fun.

Here are your options: You can take a cab, it would be around $15 with tip.

You can take the bus to DTD, then take a Boardwalk bus from there.

Depending on your ADR, you can take the bus to Epcot, walk through the World Showcase, exit out the International Gateway and walk the short distance to Beach Club or take the boat. However, it is a long hike through Epcot and if your breakfast is early, you might not be able to get through World Showcase since it opens at 11:00 a.m.

You can take the bus to MGM, then boat to Beach Club (the boats are sort off to the side from the main entrance, ask anyone and they can direct you). Or you can take the bus to MGM and then walk along the river to Beach Club which takes around 10-15 minutes (from the MGM bus que)

Taking the bus to MGM would be my choice, the walk is pretty and boat ride is nice too.

Not so sure buses to DTD would be running (or running very often) at breakfast hours.

You can walk to/from EPCOT's International Gateway even though World Showcase doesn't open until 11. That's how folks coming/going from the EPCOT resorts access Future World in the morning.

Going via DHS would probably be the best bet from ASMO. The boat ride is very relaxing.

Personally, I love Cape May. . .I had an absolute ball there in May and I was feeling really icky that morning. . .goofy made my day and the breakfast was delightful. . .However, I have never been to 1900. . .and if it were me, I would try to fit in both if I have never done either. . .my son would love meeting the mad hatter and Alice. . .as he is into Alice in Wonderland Characters. . .(oh, by the way, my son is 15. . .lol). Anyway, just my opinions. . .

That you the MGM choice sounds the nicest.

I asked this same question back in Nov- went with 1900 park fare... so disappointed - where to start?
We were given a buzzer for when our table was ready.... after 40 mins. we checked and was told the wrong number had been written down. Our table had been ready over 30mins before. Grrrr.
The food was always empty- had to wait, wait, wait for food to come out.

Should have went with cape may.
