I have reservations for a standard room at BWI for the first week in December. But I was thinking of switching to BC or YC. This is only my second trip to WDW and my first deluxe. It will be just Mom and me so we don't need the day bed at BWI and I was hoping for an almost guarantee of a balcony. I have been debating with myself and would like some input from some of you. Thanks.

Well if you want a balcony, then the Yacht Club is a better choice, almost every room has one. The Beach Club has a few, but make sure to request a room with one. I'm staying at the Beach Club, when I go in May, first time I have stayed on-site in awhile. Missed having that extra magic....

I think your choice of the BWI is perfect for you and your Mom!! The Inn has very pretty rooms, I much prefer them over either the YC or BC. All rooms have some kind of balcony although they do vary a bit in size. We stayed in a standard room last Nov and had a great view of Spaceship Earth and Illuminations in the evening. I know many people on these boards like the YC/BC over Boardwalk but after staying at the resort on several different occasions and on both sides I just could not go over to the other side of the lagoon. I love all the lights and atmosphere at the Boardwalk. Good Luck choosing....all are great resorts!!

Thumbs up for the BWI. WE've also stayed at YC/BC and much prefer BWI. The rooms are wonderful at the Boardwalk. The pool areas at YC/BC is much too crowded. I'm certain you'll love the BWI

Thanks for the feedback. I know there are still rooms at both YC and BC and I have more time to ponder.

I've stayed at the BWI and BC. For an adult trip I'd definitely choose the BWI. It's very quiet, the rooms are all in great shape, housekeeping is wonderful. Many of the BWI rooms have a view of the Epcot fireworks at night as well :)

What room did you stay in at the BWI ??? We are staying in July for the first time and would love a view of illuminations at night. We booked a standard view and asked for the rose garden,Is this right?

I was in a concierge room that looked out over the courtyard. From the balconey I had a great view of Illuminations, and could hear the music as well :)

dbail2, We were in room 3282 in November. In addition to the great view from our room the sun rise also came into our room making it exceptionally pretty early in the am!! I have been keeping notes from these boards when people mention their room number and view on these posts { I know, how obessessed is THAT??!!}I have rooms #5270,5296,2274 down for having Illuminations views. I cannot vouch for the view, just what I have gathered from the great prople here on the DIS.You asked for the right spot, just a little pixie dust and you'll be all set. I wish you a magical trip...you certainly have a very good starting point!!

I have also written down room numbers from this site. That is how we had a great room at the Polynesian last year. We had a garden view that also had a view of the water. Thanks I am going to call and ask for your room. Can't wait......Thanks.....
