Hi, everyone! :goodvibes

Out of these restaurants - do they ALL need reservations? I guess I'm nervous about making definite plans for all of the days because my fiance and I are new to Disney (haven't been there since I was little) and I'm worried about having to stop what we're doing and running off to our dinner plans.

Thoughts? I omitted Le Cellier and CRT because I know from my reading here that they definitely need reservations. ;)

Chef Mickey's
Crystal Palace
Sci-Fi
50s Prime Time
Kona Café
Ohana
Spirit of Aloha
Beaches and Cream
Whispering Canyon
Liberty Tree Tavern
Mama Rosa
Coral Reef
Chefs de France

You can't make ADRs for Beaches and Cream, but you are likely to need them for the rest.

It depends a bit on the time of year you travel, but for the most part, yes. I would recommend ADR's for:
Chef Mickeys, Crystal Palace, Sci-Fi, 50's Prime, Ohana, Whispering Canyon, LTT, Mama Melrose, Coral Reef, and Chefs de France.
I'm not sure about the ones I left out.

Although never required, reservations are HIGHLY recommended at all TS restaurants that accept them. Of the restaurants yuo list only Beaches and Cream does not accept reservations.

You may be able to walk up and get a table at some or all of these restaurants but you will not be guaranteed a table. If you have a patient, flexible group this may work for you. My 2 little ones can't stand to wait more than 10-15 minutes to sit down so we always have reservations. YMMV.

I'm a fly by the seats type of person too on vacation, and I also balked at making all these reservations ahead of time. But what you must remember is that this dining plan has made all these sit down restaurants even more popular and full. You wouldn't want to be turned away at a place you want to eat, would you? Or wait maybe over an hour for a table? When we were there this June we had a ressie at Boma in the AKL. We walked up, waited a minute to speak to the host and were ready to be led to our table in 2 minutes. While waiting the 2 minutes we overheard them tell walk ins that there would be an hour and half wait. The whole area around the entrance near the phones and restrooms was packed with people sitting and standing around waiting.

So, keep that in mind. At least if you have the reservations, you have a definite seat at a sit down place to eat.

Just a word of advice...when it comes to WDW it's better to overplan than underplan. If you plan things out in advance, (general touring plan, ADR's, prioritize shows/attractions) you will save yourself a lot of wasted time in the parks saying "what next?" The same goes for ressies...you won't need to decide on or hunt down a place to eat b/c you already did the work ahead of time. Besides, ADR's aren't set in stone. You can always skip an ADR if you find you'd rather do something else. There's no penalty for this except at meals with a credit card deposit (Spirit of Aloha on your list). If you cancel that one without enough advance notice they charge a fee on your card.
