We will be there Jan 28-Feb 2 with 5 day park hoppers. Trying to decide if we should use the 5th Park day on our ticket for Sunday evening probably 4pm-10 at most (I know Park is open until 12 but Our kids are 5 and 2; subject to flight arriving on time) or Friday morning 9-11 or so (flight leaves SNA at 2:15). The only reason I’m considering Friday is IASW should be reopened and crowds may be lower whereas I assume by the time we arrive Sunday all fast passes will be gone so there would be no point even getting Maxpass that day. I know we will be anxious to get to the park Sunday but we could also use that night to shop Downtown Disney and checkout the Disneyland Hotel where we will be staying. In the end flights, weather, and/or the kids mood may be the determining factor but assuming those are all well which would you choose?

If it means getting small world I’d go Friday. Plus you’ll be fresh for your first morning.

But I’d be tempted by Sunday instead. We usually spend all morning in our last day packing. With the trek to and from...it doesn’t really give enough time.

Just thinking, with so many things down we will probably be able to cover the park if we do half day Sunday, a couple hours Friday and 3 full days Mon-Thurs which would give us one day off to explore elsewhere. Possibly rent a car and explore a beach - thinking Balboa Island given the kids' ages. I also considered LEGOLAND or Knotts Berry Farm but the beach would be cheaper and give the kids a break from the go, go, go of the theme parks. WDYT? We are WDW Veterans and they are used to go, go, go but we also live in the frozen tundra of Northern IL and I think if the weather is even decent they would love to walk around on the beach.

It’s not really beach weather. You could take a walk but I recall being there during that time frame when I couldn’t wear shorts. I’m from Alaska!

I’d still opt for 4 full park days.

The value of a friday morning small word vs the walking around Sunday night.....hmmmm, one adult goes by them self on Sunday late night after kids are settled in, then the free day for that adult could be pool time with kids, while the other adult is at Disneyland, the other on Friday takes the 5 year old to Small world, but make it short visit, really pushing the envelope on freeway driving to SNA, TSA and picking up your car at Disneyland Hotel, because parking could be different by the time you arrive at Disneyland at the end of the month, might want to check back here on what construction is doing to parking.

so consider the one adult in park on sunday, other adult in park on non-park day for sunday adult

Sunday is the busiest day of the week. All passes, except the lowest SoCal select, are eligible to attend and most people are off work.

I think 2 hours on Friday morning would not be worth it. God forbid you are moving slow that morning and you could end up with even less park time than that.
