Which of these attractions will have low waits in late afternoon/early evening in Jul

We are flying in from the east coast on July 12th (a Tuesday), arriving at LAX at 1230 pm. Factoring in time to get to our hotel (Fairfield Inn across from DLR) and getting a bite to eat at a relaxed pace, I'm anticipating having some time to do some rides in DL and DCA starting from around 4:30-5 pm to get some rides from our wishlist out of the way. We will be staying until the 15th.

We are not interesting in watching parades or shows, and hoping to take advantage of some less busy ride lines whiel they occur.

The rides we're hoping to do during our entire July 12-15th trip are:

At DL:
Space Mountain
Star Tours
Mr Toad
Big Thunder
Pirates
Indy
Haunted Mansion
Splash Mountain
Gadget
Roger Rabbit
Autopia

At DCA:
Tower of Terror
Monsters Inc
California Screaming
Toy Story
Sky Wheel
Redwood trail
Grizzly River Rapids

Of these, are there any that you anticipate would have short wait times (like 20-30 min or less) if visiting the parks starting around 5 pm on Tues the 12th? Realistically as we'd still be on Eastern time, we'd look to get back to our hotel by around 8:30 pm.

Based on our experiences, I would say that you would be able to get a fastpass for Big Thunder, so you can shorten that wait. Pirates and Mansion both have lines that move quickly so you would probably be able to ride each of them with no more than a half hour wait.

If you decide to head over to DCA first, Monster's Inc. often has short lines, 10-15 minute wait late in the day. California Screamin' or Tower might still have fastpasses available. Redwood trail is always a good place to burn off some energy. Toy Story almost always has a line of 45+ minutes, so we will often ride it on a first afternoon since it's not likely to be a whole lot better any other time that we get over there during our trip. With the Little Mermaid opening up though, this rule may change. Maybe Toy Story will have shorter lines. We'll have to wait and see.

personally I would start in DCA (since you say you will be only in the parks 3-4 the first night) and grab a fastpass for Tower of Terror., while waiting for that to kick in go ride Monsters Inc. (every time I've been there this ride doens't seem to be that popular), if you need some more to do to kill time check out Animater's Academy and draw a Disney character.

If you go the Paradise Pier area then I would suggest grabbing a fast pass for Cali. Scream. and wait in line for Toy Story will waiting for your fast pass to kick in. Toy Story does NOT have a fast pass. Or instead of Toy Story jump on the Sky Wheel. Both wait times will probably be the same.

You could also go the other way and grab a fast pass for Grizzly Rapids and go explore RedWood trail. You could easily kill an hour while waiting to cool off on Grizzly Rapids.

All 3 options should kill your 3-4 hours if not there's Blue Sky to peruse through or go grab a corn dog!!! Hope that helps.

Late arrival during high season has lots of options.

1. As others have said you can grab a few Fastpasses

2. Although you said you are not intersted in shows, etc., well, you should be! If you did decide to see a show or parade, this is the perfect time because you are at no disadvantage over anyone else as far as being in a long line. Consider seeing the Aladdin stage show. There are many non-show goers around here who have had their minds changed after seeing this show. I defy you to not to laugh until it hurts! The genies are hilarious!

3. OK, rides. Here are some that are pretty easy to do late in the day

POTC and HM rarely get over 30 minutes
Toy Story Midway Mania - IMO the best time to ride this is after 4PM. The line will be 30-40 minutes but that is the same as in early morning anyways. And the line may be shorter this summer with the new Little Mermaid ride
Blue Sky Cellar
Mission Tortilla Factory tour
Boudin Bakery breadmaking tour


4. Tours - consider going on a tour. They have Walk In Walt's Footsteps tours that start at 2:30. I did this myself last July upon arriving at 1PM on the first day.

Out of those listed, I'd say:
-PotC
-HM
-Monster's Inc.
-Redwood Creek Challenge Trail would have lines about 20-30 min.

Mr. Toad, Gadget, Autopia and BTMRR will probably be more towards the 30 min mark. TSMMs will be a solid 30-45. Like Hydroguy said, it's always like that. The rest will be hovering around 45 or above. Star Tours, out of them all, will have the longest line.

You should still be able to get FP for BTMRR, Autopia, ToT, Splash, and Grizzly River Run (but the FP for the 2 water rides might be for later in the evening, which doesn't go so well necessarily). You also might be able to get an Indy FP, but it would be for very late at night.
