Which night should we go to MK?

Planning our Dec trip and for the first time we don’t plan to go to MVMCP. We booked this package last year with the free dining bounce back just in case but decided to take a cruise instead. Well...now we’ve decided to go but want to keep the costs low and just don’t feel the party is worth the splurge. That leaves us with only two non party nights during our trip which are Saturday 12/15 and Monday 12/17. I’m thinking the Monday may be the better day to go but is there something I’m not considering? Any tips on seeing HEA without it being nuts? And just to be sure- not chance of seeing the Christmas parade because that’s only during party nights? That’s the one thing that could cause us to spring for the party.

At one time Monday was the busiest day of the week for Magic Kingdom but that is no longer really the case. Basically, it's a coin flip. Go with whatever one fits the rest of your itinerary better. Non party days are busier than party days so whichever one you pick the key is to just get a good spot for HEA early and deal with the wait.

Earlier the better

Correct

I would pick Monday. In terms of the level of crowds, like mentioned previously, it may be a coin flip between the two. Although, I would say Saturday’s, overall, are slightly busier because it is the weekend.

For HEA, check the grassy area in front of Casey's. They use that area for the Club Level reserved spot, but they don't always use the whole area. If that doesn't work, try to get a spot right along the railing in that same area with the railing right in front of you. At least that way no one can step in front of you except the people inside the grassy area.

You could also spring for the HEA dessert party. That gives you a reserved area. I haven't kept up with it, but I know they were testing a AFTER HEA dessert party, so you watch HEA then go get desserts. If that is still happening, that would be my preferred party since it wouldn't cut into touring time and with a reserved spot, you don't have to stake out one so far ahead of time.

Neither are good options, but the weekends tend to be busier, so I would vote for Monday.

easywdw has compiled a lot of data on this recently and Saturdays have the highest average wait times (45.4 minutes), Sundays the lowest, followed by Mondays (41.3 minutes). So looks like Monday would be best if it fits your itinerary. Obviously things like weather can change that, though...
