I think I requested to get AP on the three nights if possible. That would mean I would be in AP night 1, 4 & 7. We thought about having dinner in St. Maarten which would be night #4 but I don't want to miss the drawing show.

The drawing show will happen the last night.

As noted, the Animation Magic show is the last time you are in AP. The first time is the Crush show, and the second time would be Pirate's night.

NOTE: those people who have AP only twice in their rotation will have the Crush show the first time in AP, and the Animation Magic show the second time.

ok just wanted to double check :-)

I'm a little disappointed. We were on Wonder and they didn't do any of this. We had shown the kids videos of Crush talking to the kids etc. and none of that happened.

It's only on the Fantasy and Magic (the Animation Magic show). I know the Dream & Fantasy have the Crush show, not sure about the Magic (Think she has an updated black & white to color show, though).

The Wonder has not had her major re-imagining that the Magic had, so AP is just the traditional black & white to color show she's always had. That's done the first time you dine in AP. The second time, no show.

Oh Ok, thank you. We had APTAPTA, so on the last night they did a Small World show. It was really neat to see our servers carrying their flags etc.

Well, that's traditionally a last night event, on many cruiselines. Not just AP.

On the Magic no crush. They do a small show the first night (black and white to color) and then animation magic the 2nd time you are in there (at least on the 7-night Norway, they did animation magic the 2nd time, and the 3rd night was the IASW thing, which was in all the MDRs. We were in there for Frozen night and it was still frozen+ animation show, it wasn't handled like Pirate night, which was a bummer).

Maybe a silly question and slightly off topic, but how do you request a specific rotation? I would love to do Animators 3x on our next cruise

Just call DCL and request that whatever rotation you wish be placed on your reservation. It is just a request, however, not guaranteed.

Just got off the Wonder on Monday...we dined in AP twice. The 1st time was the black & white to color show. It was great!
On the 2nd night in AP there was no animation show.

There is no Animation show on the Wonder. Only on the Fantasy, and Magic.

PrincessSchmoo - This is my 1st Disney cruise so maybe I'm describing it incorrectly. I apologize if that's the case.

But, on our 1st night in AP, some of the black & white screens on the walls would alternate with animation. Then towards the end of dinner, the lights dimmed, & the black & white portraits turned to color and there was music and an animated show that told a "story." It was really nice!

I know I didn't dream it because I was there. But maybe there's another show?!?!

Yes, on the Wonder & Magic your first visit to Animator's Palate does include the show. It's not a "show" in the sense of singing and dancing, but the black & white ambiance (pictures and servers vests) becomes colorized.

On the Magic the second visit to AP, is the Animation Magic show. This also done on the Fantasy. The guests are instructed to draw a character on a piece of paper. Those pictures are then collected and show up later in the evening on the screens as moving animation.

On the Wonder, the second visit to AP, is just a normal dining experience. No extra "show".

Now, for those cruisers that have 3 visits to AP, the second visit is typically Pirate night (except on the Alaska cruises) and the pictures on the screens are Pirate themed. And the 3rd visit will either be the Animation Magic show (Magic) or no show (Wonder).

Thanks for the info on the AP activities. The 2nd night with the drawings sounds wonderful, as does the pirate one. But, as you also mention, the only one we had on our 2 AP dinners on the Alaska Wonder cruise was the black/white to color "show." Oh, and I forgot to mention sorcerers apprentice Mickey joined the celebration with our servers & walked diwn all of the aisles at the restaurant. That was a nice treat!
