We will be sailing on the 7-Night Eastern Cruise... It's our first cruise, so we don't want to miss anything! Any recommendations on which dinner to miss for Palo? I know some say to double dip and go to your regular seating then Palo on the same night... but I'm currently trying to lose some weight and while I will eat normally on the cruise, I certainly don't want to go overboard and have 2 dinners! Thanks in advance!!! :earsgirl:

I would wait for my dinner rotation, and then skip the one that is repeated. Like aplapla, for example. I would skip animator's palate on the second time around. Also for me AP is the least appealing. That said, if it were to fall on Pirate's night, I would NOT miss it. That was by far our favorite. Oops, I am no help, am I??? :confused3

Here's the way I did it:

I went to Dave's DCL Tribute website http://dcltribute.com/ and looked at all 7 menus.

Then I picked the two menus I most likely could live without.

Once you find out your rotation and the them schedule for each dinner, you'll know what menu is for each night, and schedule Palo's accordingly.

I find that too many people schedule Palo's around not wanting to miss a theme. Why not schedule it around the food you DON'T want to eat instead?

I think 2nd Animators night is always a good choice to skip for Palo....no light show at AP on 2nd night, and the regular menu is my least favorite....

I know many will consider it sacrilege, but having experienced the Pirate menu six weeks ago on the Wonder, we both said that we would not mind choosing that menu to skip and dine at Palo's that night. For the Eastern, that will be Tuesday night, St. Martin. We'll probably do a double dip--we have early dining with DS, munch on an appetizer while he enjoys the Pirate theme--which again, didn't blow us away--and then scoot to Palo's for a 7 pm or so table, and be done in time for the deck party and fireworks. Honestly haven't checked which show we'll miss that night--but taking the advice of the earlier poster, this decision is food-based.

In terms of theme based, skipping your second night at Animator's, when there is no light show, is a great idea--but you have to check which menu that would mean missing. Dont skip the captain's gala just because it is your second night in animators.

Dito on skipping the second night at AP. It was our least favorite menu.

However, to be honest, I'd have skipped any night for Palo. It was wonderful and our favorite meal on the ship! Enjoy.

Thanks for all the great replies... After looking at the menus, I too was thinking about skipping the Pirate Night since we don't have kids and the menu didn't look as appealing to me as some of the others.
