Which Narrator do you like for the Candlelight Processional?

My absolute favorite is Marlee Matlin with Jack Jason. It is a pleasure to watch in my favorite and adopted language and I always enjoy it. I also liked Steven Curtis Chapman. Levar Burton is also quite good. My husband wants to see Jim Cavezal. I would like to see Michael W Smith invited.

OK, I'll admit it. I'm am an obsessive planner. I am planning my trip for the first week in December and I can't wait for Disney to announce their hours and the Candlelight Processional details.

We quickly planned a long weekend trip in December 2004 after we found out that Jim Caviezel (The Passion of the Christ) was narrating for the first time. He gave a joyous and moving performance.. We also saw Lou Gosset Jr. (narrator on the Candlelight Processional CD) and James Avery who were also excellent.

We have our flights, AP, GF reservation, MVMCP tickets all set for December 2006 -- just waiting for the CP list. :)

We saw Kirk Franklin in 2004. He wasn't terrible, but also not very memorable. Looking forward to attending this year as well and not-so-patiently waiting for the official announcement.

2004 - Gary Sinese - he was great - very into it and great voice!! 2005 - Jim Caviezel - he was not so great. Oh, his voice was ok, but he started out in Aramaic, which we found pretentious, and he added some adlibs about "The Passion", which we found even more pretentious.

We saw Jim Caviezel in 2004 and he did the same thing! In the middle of a serious bible passage he added "As you saw in Passion of the Christ....". I was shocked, plugging his movie in the middle of a reading!

My favorite was Marlee Matlin, but we saw Eartha Kitt last year, and she's my favorite now.

Looks like we'll be at WDW in December (if we can ever find a decent plane fare). Does this go through the whole month? We'll probably be there the 17th - 24th. Is it free unless you do the CP dinner combo? Do most of you do that? How long does it last? I really have no idea what its all about! Thanks for any info!

It's free, but they let the guests with the dinner package in first. Any left over seating is free for the non-dinner package guests. If it rains, the dinner combo guests will get the covered areas.

You'll need to line up early to get the free seating. Plus as it gets closer to Christmas, the lines get longer.

I've seen Steven Curtis Chapman twice now. Though he is very good, I'm a praying that we get someone else this year!!! Last year I missed John Stamos by ONE DAY!!! I almost cried. Uncle Jesse in Disneyworld??? I would have freaked out!!! :)

I have only senn Phil Donahue, and I can't recommend him. I was really looking forward to him, but he didn't seem into it and he messed up one part. I ended up watching the interpretor most of the time - now he was AWESOME!!!!!! :thumbsup2

I would love an opportunity to see Matlin, Sinese oe Vereen though!!!! :sunny:

I saw David Ogden Stiers. I loved him. I couldn't believe how good he was. He was so into the performance and he smiled at the musicians and was so appreciative of them. He was AMAZING during our performance. What a voice!

MY DS and I had done the dinner package once so we chose not to do it again on our second Christmas trip. We knew that Gary Sinise was the narrator one night so we grabbed dinner and sat at a table outside the American Adventure. We couldn't see, obviously, but the sound system is more than adequate, and we enjoyed a leisurely dinner listening to one of our favorite actors. It's a lovely show to view, but the music and narration is also very moving and powerful in and of itself. :thumbsup2

We have seen:

Gary Sinise: he did a great job. Relaxed, friendly and down-to-earth, yet appropriately serious.

Blair Underwood: I really liked him as well.

Sandi Patty: She was okay, but I had no idea who she was so that was kind of just blah.

Jim Caviezel: It was neat seeing him because I love him as an actor (and so good looking! ), but he seemed to take himself too seriously and he ended up being a little over-the-top and cheesy. He also plugged The Passion of the Christ and Mel Gibson several times, which was especially lame and kind of inappropriate for the CP. (Especially since this was just last year and the movie has been out for a while now!)

Eartha Kitt was ok, wouldn't rearrange my schedule to make sure I caught her, or on the other hand, to avoid either.....

John Stamos acted like he had ADD. He was very hyper ( banging drums , talking during the performance etc) I would take Gary Sinise over him anyday! JMHO

We saw Phylicia Rashad several years ago-1998 I think?. We were so lucky-we happened to be walking past the pavilion and noticed something was going on. We asked the CM about it and she said if we waited we might get "fill in" seats-well, we waited and were seated for the show. Anyway, to answer your question, she has a lovely speaking voice and I wouldn't hesitate to see her again.

we saw Phylicia Rashad in 1998, so good chance you got the year right on that one. We have her on videotape, eventually I'll get it transfered to digital and I'll post it up.
