Hi everyone, we're dvc owners and thinking of visiting DL for the first time on some points we have..we're wondering which month would be better to visit in the summer - June or July? Any opinions? Is the weather the same in those months?

and how many days do we need to visit both parks?

thanks!!

I'd pick June over July. The first couple weeks they have Grad Nights on Thursdays where DL closes early, so you may want to consider that.

June traditionally has gloomy weather in the morning but it burns off pretty quickly.

I'd say 4-5 days for first-timers is would be a good amount of time during the summer.

As others have said June is a bit cooler. See

But I would not let weather be the deciding factor as it is not that different in my experience (I lived in SoCal for 28 years) or based on data from the links above.

Whether June or July, follow good summer touring advice and you will be have a better trip. See

As DangerMouse said, early June is different from late June. For a first time visitor I would lean towards recommending a visit in the last half of June on weekdays to make sure you have the most options for entertainment (DLR entertainment schedules are more uncertain than WDW). If you go first half of June then definitely make sure you are there on two weekend nights (Fri/Sat/Sun) to catch the weekend only entertainment. After mid-June entertainment is at maximum and you can go any day - hence the advice to visit weekdays.

I agree with Hydro regarding not letting weather being your deciding factor. We were there in early June this year and the temps were perfect one day (June gloom in the morning and low 80's during teh day), but the next day was in the 90's and it was pretty miserable. I've seen 100 degree temps in April and almost 90 degree temps in January at DLR. You just never know what you're gonna get.

thanks for the great tips! I'll definitely check out that thread when we decide that we're definitely going!
