Hey Everyone,

I am looking for advice on which month would be best to get married.

The months we are considering are April, May or December (2010). I personally like being there with the xmas decorations, and I know it is cheaper, but since we are coming from Canada, I am worried about weather, and the chance that flights could be canceled.

We are looking at SBP, so I want to go when there is a less likely chance of rain.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

In december it could be super nice and the next day it could be very cold. I think it is much more likely to rain in april and may. I would vote december just because you could have the led lights in the back of your MK portraits =o)

If your ceremony is outside though it might be very chilly...

Could you go in November just after the xmas decorations are put up but while it is still a bit warmer?

I am torn.. Also keep in mind that a chunk of April is spring break - I would def avoid those weeks.

May is def. the best out of those. April is insane as far as Spring Break - the one time I went that time of year I hated it! May is just perfect as far as weather. I go down pretty much every year in the middle of the month (my birthday!) and it's not too hot and it's not at all too rainy. I would advise against December just because it can get chilly (according to Florida standards - not mine!! I had my sunroof open when it hit 35 oF this week! :rotfl: And I was out in short sleeves!!)

You can play around with this site below and check out some of the potential days that you want to get married. It will also show you rainfall as well.

Ahhh... Meg, your freakin me out! I was hoping it wouldn't be jammed pack like it was in Aug. :scared1:

I say Dec. I know you are taking a chance but I love Disney in Dec. Except when it's crowded so find out about crowd levels. We went mid Dec last yr and it was chilly but lovely. The yr before we went over Xmas and it was insane.

Maybe it was just the weeks I was there - the 2nd and 3rd week of the month. :confused3 Maybe it's better in the end?

As far as i remember they don't have the lights on for MK portraits.

I vote December if you do it early the crowds are low and the Christmas decorations will be up and while the weather might be either cold or warm. Orlando weather in general is hard to figure out. Early December is also considered value season so the rooms would be cheaper for you and your guests.

With April, you have to watch for Easter and Spring Breaks. May starts the rain season, but a morning ceremony might miss the rain all together, as they are normally afternoon showers.

May. Gorgeous weather and it never ever rains. The past 4 years we have gone early may and we never had a drop of rain.

Thanks for the advice everyone!!

December was the ideal month, but I don't know if I can wait that long:laughing: Again, I am also worried about storms at home and flights being canceled....so I guess I have a lot to think about!

We're going with 28th April 2010. I read somewhere that April is supposed to be a lucky month plus DF is 30 a few days before so it can be a double celebration:banana:

I would have loved  to have the wedding in December - Christmas is my favourite time of year but there were too many things going against us - a lot of people, including myself! couldn't get time off work around that time of year and its exam time here for universities and stuff. So we settled with April.

we had a december wedding at SBP and LOVED it!!! Perfect time of year! Not cold, not hot, no rain....beauty!

April 28th is my date this yr.

There are two times that I recommend to go....the first is during the Food and Wine festival..you really should NOT miss this...seriously..to me, it's the perfect experience in EPCOT....make sure you stay in a Disney hotel for that one so you don't have to drive!!!.... the second is the first TWO weeks of December...the least crowded time of the year...usually the best, coolest weather...and they still have all the lights/decorations up.....crowds are lighter than other times then and on Friday Nights in a Disney hotel you have the Extra Magic Hours for 3 hours after the park closes in EPCOT every Friday...you can literally get on anything in at MOST 10 minutes most Fridays during this time :)

Food & Wine Festival is in Oct/Nov, not a time frame listed. Early December is no longer the slow period that it was. I think all months will be about the same crowd wise, it comes down to weather really.

I have to agree with Lynn. May is actually my favorite time of year to go. The weather is absolutely beautiful. It's not too hot, never a risk of it being cold, the crowds are low, and it doesn't rain. I don't think you can go wrong with May. :)

I would either do May or early december. April is crazy because of spring break. That is one thing that I plan to never do is again. I've only been once during May and it was beautiful and the crowds were light. I also did my disney internship over the holidays and the decorations and all of the lights are BEAUTIFUL!!! :goodvibes If you are going to go in December I would do it in the beginning. If you go any later than that it will get very crowded. Happy planning.

December can get pretty cold, just depends on the year. The only problem is, you won't know until you get there really, or just before hand. I would also choose May, the weather is pretty comfortable. I would just avoid being there around Mother's Day weekend, it tends to get a wee bit crowded.

Easter is pretty early next year so later in April probably wouldn't be too bad. Most local FL schools have spring break in March/early April. I would check some of the websites for school districts up north and try to get an idea of when their spring breaks are over by. December is such a beautiful time but Orlando weather in Dec is soooo unpredictable! I haven't picked my date yet either and am thinking about a late April/early May date. Last week of Feb/1st week of March are also good to consider (low crowds) if you don't mind that it might possibly be cool. I plan to watch the weather this year to decide which month I want for sure. The closer you get to summer, the closer you get to the rainy season but also remember that the rainstorms rarely last all day.

If you are having a DJ, they double their prices in December (according to my contract). I have been in May and it was beautiful!
