Why do you like one over the other? Want to stay at a monorail resort at least once. I've been to Hawaii and love the themeing at the Poly but the rooms don't seem to appeal to me. Been to the "Hotel del" Coronado and GF really appeals to me (the decor and restaurants), CR not much into it except the monorail goes through it..more of a traditional person although saw a pic of the new model room for the south wing and that looks real nice. Basically, it's Poly or GF. Being on the monorail also puts us close to many restaurants and 2 parks. I've stayed at a Ritz Carlton once (on a special pkg.) and really wasn't worth it..I couldn't imagine paying more..The Plaza was also the same way. What's your fave?

If I had the money, only for 1 night I would try Contempory Resort!!

GF for the beauty and the convenience. First stop at MK and ferry on the way back first stop GF.

Not CR -- the only thing it has going for it for me is being on the monorail.

Poly with kids -- transportation options are just impossible to beat since you can walk to the TTC.

GF if just DH and I -- I really enjoy the theming there and would love to go there sans kids and linger over tea and drinks at the bar. The transportation loss over Poly would not be as big of a deal without kids.

We hoep to get to stay a monorail resort eventually-I think when we do it will be the Poly. :)

Our first stay was in the Polynesian in 1997. We thought it was great.

About 12 trips later, in 2003, we stayed in Sugar Loaf, GF (concierge, but not the main building). We thought it was great.

Then about five trips later, in 2005, we stayed at the Contemporary. We never thought much about staying there, but we got a deal that we just couldn't pass up.

So, to compare them all, they are all great. They have different things that make them great. Like someone else said, the Polynesian is within walking distance of the TTC. The lagoon view is wonderful especially in the AM when you can get that early morning view of the MK.

The GF has great dining places and a wonderful leisure pool. I don't care for their themed pool, it just seems so much smaller and more crowded. It's so easy to walk over to the spa for spa treatments. The GF had the smallest rooms of the three resorts.

And the Contemporary has a great pool, especially when you stay in the South Wing. The Concourse Steakhouse is a new favorite for us. And the rooms are very large.

I thought GF's rooms were bigger. If they made part of CR a DVC resort (and it looked like a more updated contemporary style, I might stay there in the future. I really like the Poly, but to me it seems more 70's Hawaiian style (the rooms and most of the fabrics they use). But I have been yearning to go back to Hawaii so maybe if I stay at the Poly I can curb that feeling for a while. I think it even smells like Hawaii! Only thing..no daily rainbows.

Haven't stayed at GF.

LOVED the Poly, many very friendly CMs & enjoyed atmosphere, restaurant, etc. :earsboy:

Did not like anything about CR except the very convenient monorail.

I've always loved the Contemporary. I don't know if it's valid but the resort seems more compact. Everything is close together so no long walks.

I LOVE LOVE the Polynesian!! I love the tropical island feeling when I'm there. I like the exotic plants and flowers. I like the music they play all though out the ground. I love the pool and the slide! I enjoyed the "Spirit of Aloha" very much! Kona Cafe and Ohana are at the Polynesian. You are only about 5-10 minute walk to the TTC. The Neverland Club is at the Polynesian. I am an Islander girl... and this resort fits me perfectly!

We absolutely love the Polynesian and normally stay there, however, we are going to try the Grand Floridian out in September we'll see how it goes. I am having a really hard time fighting that urge to go home to the Poly but I am not going to change my ressie again , we'll try GF this time but I can almost guarantee that we'll be back at the Poly when we go in May  .

The Poly.... location, theming, pool, restaurants, castmembers, beach, you name it..... it is GREAT!

We love all three for many different reasons. My favorite is the GF. My DH and DS11's favorite is the Contemporary.

We have stayed at the Polynesian and the CR, not the GF. The GF just doesn't appeal to any of us, well..except maybe my dh. I think he want to stay there just so he can tell his buddies he has stayed there..purely a snob appeal thing for him. But, I digress. We prefer the CR. My dd was almost 10 when we stayed there and she didn't care for it a bit. In fact, it is the bottom resort on her list!! Dh and I liked it well enough but not enough to go back. But we all loved the CR!!! I was really surprised about that. We loved being able to walk to MK, take the boat to FW and WL, the TTC was just one monorail stop away so getting to Epcot was very easy. The food choices were great. And you have to understand that when we stayed at the CR...it was the same day that Hurricane Charley hit!!! And still we found the CMs to be terrific. Yep, love everything about it.

I say Poly.. my Aunt and Uncle swear by the GF but I thought that the rooms were really small and uncomfortable.

ok, I am a disney novice- everyone ealks about walking to the TTC- what is the TTC?

Ticket and Transportation Center. It's where the huge parking lot is for MK. You can take the monorail from here, and also the ferry to MK. THere is a nice pathway between TTC and the Polynesian, which makes the Polynesian even more attractive.

I love the CR. It is the first resort we ever stayed at and holds alot of memories for me. Love walking to the MK AND having monorail access to Epcot. Honestly, all 3 monorail resorts are very, very nice. Happy planning!
