Hubby and i are thinking of taking a quick (3 or 4 night) anniversary trip the first week in Dec. We can't decide on a resort, we are thinking of POR, POFQ, or CBR. Which one would you choose and why.

I voted for CBR, since I like the caribbean theming better. I think though, you could have a great time at any of your choices. BTW, CSR has queen beds, if that matters any but it wasn't a choice.

I prob should have mentioned, POR has the rooms with the kingsized bed so thats what we would book if we were to go there.

As a family of 5, we enjoy Port Orleans Riverside and the Bayou/Cajun feel of the resort. Alligator Bayou is reminiscent of New Orleans and I can't help but think of Princess and the Frog! :goodvibes

I am no help since we are contemplating the same thing right now, but I want to keep an eye on your poll so it can help me too :lmao:
Right now I am leaning towards POR, but we had a trip booked at CBR in 2008 that we ended up canceling so I really could go either way. I think it might come down to which one we can use our PIN for with us.

Yeah we are leaning towards POR ourselves. Our friends stayed there in Jan and loved it. I hope we get a pin soon too!!

Why is Coronado Springs not in your list? When answering a question about which moderate to stay at, I always say CSR.

We've only stayed at the Coronado which is not on your list. But we have visited the other three numerous times each. The only other moderate we would consider is the POR-Riverside. It is a beautiful resort and has a great food court. The POFQ is okay, but we found the hot tub too small and crowded when we visited and there are no quieti pools. The CBR holds no appeal to us because of the food court and the theme of the rooms and the resort itself (we go to the beach every year).

They're all great, but I voted Riverside. It's beautiful and it's got a great food court. I'd stay there again in a second.

My family has only stayed at POR and we all loved it. We're going to be staying at CBR this September, and I'm hoping to have 2 favorite resorts by the time our vacation is over.

Good luck with your decision. :)

We have stayed at POFQ several times and always enjoy it. We like the small size of the resort, the theming, pool and food court. It is also a really nice walk to POR for a sit down meal. We will be going down in September and decided that we would try something different. We are staying at CBR. We stayed here once several years ago and loved the resort theming and food court. The grounds were beautiful but at that time the rooms were really run down. We were really unhappy with our stay because of that. Now that they have renovated the rooms we decided to try it again and really excited. Since you don't have small kids along the size of the resort may not be an issue but if it is POFQ is small and easy to get around, POR and CBR are much bigger. Have fun and I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay no matter where you stay.

Keep in mind that overflow for Pop Warner is booked into POR during the first week of Dec. So if you'll be going to WDW during you may want to avoid that resort.

That said my fav mod is POFQ. All the benefits of POR without the hassle. They are sister resorts, so you can use the pools at POR if you want, though when I was in WDW the same time you're going it wasn't warm enough for that. The hot tub is very secluded at POFQ, a big plus for the 2 of you. Keep in mind that the buses stop at POFQ first if they go to POR, so you'll have a seat on the bus going to the park and be the first off in the evening. Also, it has its own bus stop at MK in the evening. Oh, and be sure to try the beignets in the food court. YUM!! Also, there's a carriage ride at POR for your anniversary memories too. The boat to DTD is wonderful too.

I chose POFQ. I did so because POFQ is a small resort so it's easy to get around and it was quiet. I also really liked the theme of the resort and the pool, and enjoyed eating the beignets at the food court. Of course you can always go over to POR if you want a sit down meal or carriage rides. Also we enjoyed getting on the bus first and getting off the bus first at POFQ.

Didn't vote in your poll because I would choose CSR over any of the others. If I HAD to choose one I guess it would be POFQ. I didn't care for the theming in the room at POR, we were in Alligator Bayou and just didn't care for it at all. It's been too long since I stayed at CBR to give it any kind of real rating.

If I were you I would still consider CSR. I think it has more of an "adult feel" than any of the other of the moderate resorts. All the rooms have been recently refurbed. It's by far my favorite mod.

I wanted to just throw this suggestion out there, maybe your DH would like it. We always stay at the Fort willderness cabins, not really the most romantic place but you do have a space all to yourself and really it is nice and quiet. We are staying there for our Honeymoon in october. I think it is an overlooked moderate choice a lot of the time but it really is good for the money :)
You do have to rent a golf cart, (but I love driving the golf cart) and they leave towel animals everywhere and who doesnt love a good towel animal ;)

I have stayed at POR and it was nice but overall the resort does not stand out to me as much as CBR! So that has my vote:)

Love all three!!! I voted POR because of the beautiful grounds (mansions) and food court.
You couldn't go wrong with any of them, though.

POR and CBR are too spread out and far from the main blgs for us. We like to refill our mugs and be close to the food court.

I voted for POFQ mainly because of the small size. Buildiing 4 and 5 are very convenient to the lobby, foodcourt and bus stop. Scatcats is a very nice lounge as well.

However, when I go back and I need to stay at a mod, I will try CSR. I do not like the theming either, but it is the only mod w/queen size beds. That is a big plus for our family...
