Which Moderate

I know this has probably been asked but I am going to ask again. Which moderate do you prefer and why? We were going to stay at Wilderness in October but the building slump has us cutting the budget back. We have a daughter that will be almost 3 at that time. I wanted the bunks for her since she isn't used to sleeping in a big bed yet. But we will just have to make a double bed work somehow.

Love my Lodge but can't take a chance of the discount thing not coming out and then not having a ressie somewhere else. Right now October is open everywhere so I wanted to go ahead and get my night reserved.

CSR!! Great pool, atmosphere, CM's transportation and food options. It offers some deluxe amenities like a spa, salon, fitness center and more.

Great that is what I am looking for.

I dont' have anything against the All Star ones and stuff but this is the only trip we will be taking in over a year and for the next year. I figure "if" a discount does come up and we are at a moderate then it will just be a bonus!

I do love POR & FQ...however my new fave is CSR!!! And since you stayed at WL, and are used to Deluxe, CSR is closest to Deluxe as a moderate will get....Its a gorgeous resort with a great pool, food court, and bus service!

I've yet to stay at CSR, so I can't say anything about it.

But my favorite is POFQ!! It's small and quiet, so it's pretty charming. It's close to everything. It has the boat to DTD. Or you can take the boat or the trail to it's sister resort - POR. The CM's are wonderful as is housekeeping.

I don't know, it's sometimes tough to sell, but for us it just feels right. I can't explain why exactly, but I guess that's the Disney Magic! We just felt it when we were there.

Another vote for CSR, it really is a neat resort. The themeing is beautiful and it just felt so relaxing to walk around the lake. The bus transportation was the best I've ever experienced.
I like the POFQ because it is a smaller resort, nice and compact, it does share the buses with the POR and sometimes that can be a paid, although the POFQ is picked up first. I just found that at night when the parks closed the lines for the bus back to the POFQ and the POR were horrid.

POFQ-Nice pool and decent food court. The grounds are great(then again I think they are great at every Disney resort). They are the first pickup and drop off for the park buses. It also has the boat to Downtown Disney, which is a really nice and relaxing ride.

I agree with the buses being the best I have experienced for CSR. We stayed last September and are going again this year at the end of August. One benefit over the value resorts - real coffee! (If that is important to you- it was a BIG issue for some of the people in my party when we stayed at Pop). I also really enjoyed the pool and overall had a great trip at CSR. Aside from the location perk of staying at the Dolphin, CSR is the favorite we have stayed at in the past few years.

I vote for POFQ. It's smaller & I love the grounds & pool. Went to CSR this year, second time, & I still prefer POFQ.

I have stayed at CBR (DD was 6 then), POR (DD was 7 then) and thsi summer we are at CSR (DD will be 8)! LOVE them all...and very excited about CSR this year...thanx to a thread I started a few days ago asking for opinions on the resort! I think you can't go wrong with any of them. CBR is pretty big though....lots of walking! Good luck with your choice! Have a blast!

My favorite is POR. I've not stayedat POFQ, but many people say they like it because it is one of the smaller resorts. It's rignt next to POR. The food court at POR was great. We walked over to POFQ one day, and their food court didn't look as nice as POR, nor did it look like it had as much selection of food. We stayed at CSR once, and didn't care for it....thought it was really large....it seemed much larger to me than POR. We also didn't care for the food court at CSR. It's a nice resort, but big. Also, POR and POFQ have the boat transportation to and from DTD, which was nice. I think all the Disney resorts are nice, so no matter where you stay, I think you will have a good time!

Well thanks to Buzz and all the other posters this has made my mind up. We were having to move from the Lodge to a moderate due to the house market (DH is a General Contractor). We didn't want to loose our one and only vacation and still have a decent time. This place looks awesome!

Question the Disney description does not say they have refridgerator in all rooms. But Buzz shows one and says they are standard. Just want to confirm this if possiable.

we always stay at POFQ. i love the size of it. especially with kids. you never have to worry about walking to the pools, or in some driving to the pools. plus the boat to DD is great, we utilize that every night we are there.
i do love CSR....when we dont have kids with us. i dont feel its a really kid friendly resort. of course it doesnt discourage them but it does seem to be of a conference center.

oh and i never use disney transportaion, so i dont know about the busses.

You made a great choice in CSR. Although it is large, we find this to be a blessing. We don't feel as crowded as we did at the values or even some of the deluxes. It is an absolutely beautiful resort and it has become our home away from home. We will be there for the 7th time in September and we cannot wait. The only other moderate I might consider is POFQ. Hated everything about POR and the Caribbean--didn't like themeing at either, food court at Caribbean was awful.

We have stayed at both CSR and CBR, and CSR was our favorite by a mile between those two. Pool is great and food options are very good. Pepper Market is a great place for a variety of good food. IMO it's the best choice of all the moderate resorts.
