Which Moderate would be best??

Hi everyone!
Looks like we need to pick a moderate resort for our October trip this year. We usually stay deluxe but it's not in the budget right now. We have stayed at Poly twice and WL twice and just got back from 3 nights at Pop. We do like relaxing a bit at the resort and having comfy beds to sleep in.

I have looked at the pictures over and over and read reviews and I can't decide. It will be me (DW), DH, DD8 and DS4 by time we travel. Poly is our favorite resort and whe nwe drove by CSR I thought it looked beautiful. I do like to immersed in Disney the whole time I'm vacation. At Pop I thougth the bus service was good but I'm not into crowds and standing up all the time. The small size of POFQ appeals and I also think it looks pretty but I do like the tropical decor better. If anyone knows which resort was refurbished last that will help make my decision. As well as bus service and good mousekeeping. Thanks for any opinions.

We love CSR and will be staying there for the seventh time this September. I think your kids would love the Dig Site Pool and slide. The CSR is however scheduled for a rehab of rooms starting in October of this year.

Our favorite moderate is CBR - right now the pool is being refurbished and should be completed by your October stay. Your kids should love the new pirate theme.:wizard:

CSR is a great mod. Awesome pool, no shared transportation, and terrific food options. Check out my CSR website below for pics and info.

Thanks everyone!

Buzz do you know when the room refurbs are scheduled for CSR? Our trip we probably be October 5-12th. I love your website and pictures by the way!!

POR is probably the best mod. CSR is really geared towards conventioneer's. If there is a big convention there, it doesn't give the feel of a "Disney Resort"

I also know that one of the main pools at CBR is closed for refurb, so you might want to check that and see if it coincides w/ your dates.

I completely disagree. First, many resorts are "convention" resorts, not just CSR. We love CSR, and stay in the Ranchos section. The only time we notice that conventions are going on is that the food court is more crowded from 12-1:00 because of lunch break, and DTD buses are crowded after 4:00. Other than that, we have not even been aware of how many people/conventions are going on. If you choose to stay in the Casitas, you do have a better chance of seeing conventioneers. CSR has a very relaxed resort feel to it, and is extremely enjoyable... can't wait to get back there!

Also, OP complained about the crowded buses with values. POR shares buses with POFQ, so those buses are reported as crowded more often than not. CSR does not share buses, and we have rarely found them crowded.

I love when people talk about CSR being a convention resort and how it takes away from the Disney aspect but they've never stayed there. :lmao:

Thanks! I was only told that they would not start until October but not date or section was given. I was there during the last rehab in the spring of 2005 and it didn't interfere with us because they worked while we were at the parks.

It looks like CSR is our choice for a moderate. The theme just appeals to me and the pool looks great. Also the bus situation might be best since we do like to have a seat at least some of the time. Also not having wall units for A/C sounds better too. I love the look of Castita's, but the location of Cabana's.

Good choice! Have a great trip! :thumbsup2

We absolutely love CSR! We stayed there last February for the first time (our first ever stay at a moderate) and enjoyed every second.. so much so that we went back in September and stayed there again. The bus service was great. The buses weren't crowded and we never waited for more than 5 minutes for a bus the entire trip. We loved The Pepper Market (after we got used to it) and thought the resort itself was simply gorgeous! I didn't find that the idea of it being a "convention resort" took away from it at all.. sure, we saw some conventioneers but it didn't take away from the Disney feel whatsoever. We'll be going back for sure.

Casitas is my favorite section of CSR. We love it. During our last trip we started out at AKV, then moved to CSR for the last part of the trip. My DD said she preferred CSR!
