Ok kind people opinions on which moderate resort is best and why would be most gratefully received.

I think we are decided that we are going to stay for one week in Pop Century and the other week in a moderate resort. It will be myself, my 19 year old daughter and my 15 year old daughter.
We have ruled out Caribbean Beach resort due to the cost so its out of Coronado springs, POFQ and Port Orleans Riverside. Which is the better of those 3.

Thanks

Why Caribbean Beach because of the cost. It is a moderate resort and costs the same as Port Orleans and Coronardo Springs

We have stayed at Caribbean Beach 3 times now and are staying there in September. Really nice and with each country having its own pool is often very peaceful during the day if taking a breather from the parks

It does you know, i have priced everything up on wdw uk.
For my dates (25thAugust-1st Septmber 2009) the Caribbean beach works out £119 more expensive than either of the other 3. I have no idea why that is because as you said they are all moderate resorts.
Now £119 may not seem much in the grand scheme of things but when every penny counts it certainly does.

It's very true that there can be price variations even between the different resorts though I think it's more common on disneyworld.co.uk than disneyworld.com.
I think which is best is quite a subjective question but POFQ does seem to get the most positive reviews and is the highest up moderate resort on TripAdvisor. The small size is a real advantage IMO as the other moderates are fairly huge. Personally, though, i'd go with whichever theme you like the most since the facilities are pretty similar :) One thing I can think is that POFQ doesn't have a sit-down restaurant so it may depend if that is important to you.

we have stayed at both POFQ and CSR. out of the 2 I prefer POFQ. 3 reasons really.
.
1. At coronado, we did feel a bit weird going for lunch with folks at a convention togged up in suit and tie, and we were in shotrs and tees. it also makes the resort clog up at lunch time, didn't bother us for most of the time as we ate in parks.

2.POFQ seems more relaxed and less crowded. you also have the advantage of getting the water bus to DTD, which is really lovely of an evening.Plus the pool area is fab.

3. you also get 2 basins in POFQ bathroom and only 1 at CSR. does make a difference when you all want to brush teeth to get out quickly.:thumbsup2

My teenage boys loved POR. Never had problems with transportation, facilities are great, quiet swimming pool for each couple of blocks and it's really spacious with beautiful grounds.

Have only been to POR - we stayed in the mansion the 2nd time. I really liked the grounds & the boat to DTD :thumbsup2

we are staying at coronado for our wedding in sep and walked round it in feb and loevd it. We stayed in pop in feb and also loved that resort

Will be going back next year hopefully for 1st anniversary

Sarah i see you are from Essex, where abouts if you don't mind me asking??

We have stayed at POFQ and CBR. Absolutely loved FQ and would stay thee again any time! Not quite so keen on CBR!

I have done POR and FQ and of the two I preferred POR - very pretty and relaxing. A bit of a walk to the food court but we were lucky and never got rained on. FQ is small which has some advantages but I much preferred POR

of the mods our fav is coranardo springs, the grounds are loverly to walk roun in the evening
Paulh

of the moderates, we've only stayed at POR...
we enjoyed it a lot...
we requested the building right next to the food court/lobby...
i think the building we were in was building 14....nice and convenient...

Stayed at both CBR and POR and preffered CBR but POR is loveley as well.We did go over to POFQ and I must admit really liked it there. The pool are is great and liked the different food you are offered to POR.Each to there own.CSR also looks very nice.:lovestruc You will
have a good time where ever you stay.ITS DISNEY:banana: :cool1: :lmao: :yay:

Another Vote for POR, having said that it is the only moderate we have stayed in.

Very nice grounds, almost romantic, carriage ride looked nice and great boat to DTD. Buses were very good for our stay but on site food is limited if intending to eat at the hotel on a regular basis.

POR - its beautiful! Great rooms, scenery, gift shop, food court, bar area and night entertainment, also great access to DTD.

We loved POFQ and POR (trying CSR for the first time this year), but my fave was POFQ. I liked that you could get a boat to DTD and also that you could walk to the sitdown restaurant at POR. It was smaller than POR I think that's why I liked it.

Sarah's from Brentwood, and I'm in Hornchurch. Jane (B2B-2008) is in Romford... :goodvibes

Bit of a trek from Gt Wakering...

I got mentioned in a post :cool1:

We are staying at the POFQ in a few weeks we have never been there before. I wanted to put my family in ASM but my brother and his wife are Disney haters and I think that resort would have pushed him over the edge, all the large characters etc. I chose POFQ as it looks smaller than the others and I didn't think the theme was to in your face so hopefully my brother can handle it!

OP as you can see everyone has their favourites :rotfl2:

We've stayed at both POR and CSR and out of the 2 prefered POR but they were both very nice :)
