Which moderate resort for Disneymoon??

I've been looking again at the deluxe resorts....and I'm a really bad decision maker!

Would it be worth the extra $1000 to stay at the Animal Kingdom lodge or Boardwalk?

It would be for me! Well, for BW (able to walk to TWO parks?!? Yes, please!). But the question is, would it be for you? It is your honeymoon, a once in a lifetime thing. Are the added amenities/conveniences of a deluxe worth more of a splurge? Can you really afford it? Will you regret spending more money?

I think that depends on your situation. What would $1000 mean to you? Are you a young couple starting out? Or an older couple with established savings? How badly do you want to stay at AKL or BW?

When we got married, we had very little to work with, but now, $1000 isn't THAT BIG of a deal to us. All this being said, we spent our honeymoon at POFQ and loved it! We're heading back for the third trip with our kids to POR. Everytime we take the boat to DTD, we point out our room (it was on a corner facing the river) and everyone waves.

Another thing to consider...how much time do you plan to stay at resort and how much time elsewhere. We often will select a resort with less of a view for cheaper. Although it can be nice to have a resort close to a park such as boardwalk. Love being able to walk out of the back of EPCOT after illuminations ( or take a boat) back to the hotel and not have to wait for bus. I agree that you need to decide how much $1000 means to you...you can certainly do a lot of other things to treat yourself with that kind of money - even a special dinner at Victoria and Alberts or other nice place could be had with some of that money. Or a special fireworks cruise from Yacht and Beach over to Epcot, very romantic! Above all, relax and have fun! Good luck and best wishes!

Thanks for all the responses! I have decided to stay at POFQ as it seems like a nice smaller place for a honeymoon! I am going to get us a King bed and try to get a river view. I am so excited!

Not sure when your Disneymoon is going to be, but I was looking into renting DVC points from the DVC rental Store. They had openings in late Sept. for a studio at the AKV. For us it was only going to be around $500 more than POR. But then FD came out for Oct. at POR so that's what we went with. But maybe this would work for you. It's a great way to stay at a Deluxe but without paying tons more.

Don't know what your dates are, but I hope you looked into the free dining offer that just came out. That would save you even more money! Just check out the thread about this offer in the Codes & Discounts section of this forum.

I was just going to suggest the same thing. Hopefully, she takes a look into it so she can stay at a deluxe for her honeymoon.
