CSR was fun but really big!! We liked the theming, but our directions to our room were "go out of this parking lot and turn right, go about two miles and park in that parking lot. Your room should be right there in front of you!!" I said, "Go two miles???!!! Will I still be at this resort???"

POFQ was pretty good, but our least favorite of all the mods. It just seems to be the most run down and the oldest.

POR was most awesome!!! We loved the design, the river, the boat ride to DTD, dining at Boatwrights, and all the marina and bicycle activities offered for rent. The entire atmosphere is relaxing!!! DH  it and he really doesn't love much at WDW.... he goes to humor me:rolleyes1

Definitely CSR just for the fact of not having to share buses like POFQ/POR.

We have stayed at CSR and CBR, so far. Between the two, hands down CSR was the better resort. The buses were always empty. The resort had far fewer children, so it was much quieter, actually, I believe that it may have been the quietest resort that we have ever stayed at on property. The food quality was much better! We love Maya Grille and the fact that you could get excellent coffee and service there. The rooms were neat and clean. Overall, it was just a great experience. CBR, OMG, where to start?!?!? I didn't care for the theme to start with, but we booked it with a code. The room was ok, but there were some cleaning issues. I swear, they couldn't have put us further away from the bus stop or the restaurants. Oh, and their table service is a joke!

I would love to try POR or POFQ, but we just haven't gotten there yet. I am thinking that POR will be perfect for 2009, since I heard that the new dog kennel facility will be just across the street from the entrance. I can't wait to bring the dogs with us to WDW!

I voted for POR which we've stayed at twice. I feel it is a near deluxe level resort and a great value. It was the first Disney resort we've repeated at on our quest to stay at them all. Good sit down dining, huge food court, huge arcade, great shaded playground, very nice pool, boat transportation to DD, and beautiful landscaping. I prefer the Magnolia Bend section.

POFQ is really nice and probably better than POR if you have small kids - not as much walking and more tame pool area and slide.

CBR was pretty, but too spread out.

I've never stayed at CSR so I can't compare it. Maybe next time.

How tame is the pool? I'm a little worried that it is more for little kids. My boys are 6 and 9 - and thrill ride junkies. Do you think they are going to like it? :confused3

I have stayed at 3 of the 4 moderate resorts. They are all nice, and whatever choice you make I'm sure you will be happy with. It's like having to choose between your favorite flavors of ice cream :)

CBR: This one if my least favorite (though still nice overall). I thought there were too many bus stops. We stayed in Jamaica, the first stop, and it takes longer to get around the resort than to get to the parks once you leave the resort. I also really did not like that the check-in area is separate from the food court.

CSR: My only complaint is that the rooms have a single sink instead of double. It's a very nice, very pretty resort. I really liked the food court, and the pool is great.

POR: This one is my favorite. It does share a bus with POFQ sometimes, but when we were there, during the busy times it had its own bus. I love the boat to DD. I can't think of any complaints about this resort, we LOVED it!

I have a ressie for CBR presently, but Im thinking of changing it to CSR.
We do have a daughter who will be 21 months.
Does anyone know what transportation is provided for each mod resort?
What Im asking is does any of them take a boat from the resort to somewhere other than Downtown Disney.
thanks

All the Mods have bus-only transportation. POR & POFQ also have a boat to DD.

CSR and CBR each have their own busses. They don't share with other resorts, but they have multiple stops within the resorts.

POR and POFQ share busses and boats to Downtown Disney. (I hope I have this right) POFQ only has one bus stop, but the bus continues on to POR where there are multiple stops.

My personal favorite of the moderates is Coronado Springs. I go to this resort often with my mom. We love walking around the lake. We enjoy the pool (I think it has one of the best pools- large, pretty, slide, nice size hot tub), we like the hammocks. There are pretty flowers every where. We like the food court (we love splitting the quesdillas).

I have stayed at POR a few times and my dad would say this is his favorite resort because he loves to fish. And we all like the food cout here as well. My sister (can't leave her out LOL) likes POR as well.

Good luck with your decision!! I have stayed at 3 out of the 4 the only one I haven't stayed at is POFQ. All 3 of the others I can vouch for they are all great resorts!!

:goodvibes

We've stayed at POR, POFQ and CSR, and POFQ is our choice hands-down. Why? Because of its compact size. After hiking through the parks all day, we don't want to be hiking around our resort too.

We love the Port Orleans Riverside. The food court is delicious, the pool is very kid friendly and the overall surroundings are just beautiful.....Here's some pics from our Oct. trip....Room 3401...Loved it!

WOW! That view is amazing! Was that a water view room or standard? :goodvibes

POFQ!!! The atmosphere was stunning and it was small which made everything feel so comfortable. And walking along the river at dusk was breathtaking! The slide in the pool is awesome too!
