Which Moderate for Christmas?

We are thinking about taking a trip on Dec 26th - Jan 1 and will likely stay at a a moderate. We LOVE CSR and we think POR and POFQ are pretty neat, too. However, since we've never been around Christmas we want some opinions on how each of these moderates look during the holidays. Does one stand out from the others?

We really loved our stay at WL for last Christmas season....YES I know it's not a mod....BUT it is priced comparably to the Mods! So, I figured I would mention it!!

Except, WL is not a moderate resort.

I would say they all are pretty much the same. I would give a little edge to CSR. They seemed to have a little more decorations in the lobby.

We have spent the last two Christmas at CSR and loved it. The lobby has a huge Christmas tree and lots of decorations. Not much outside beyond the main building in way of decorations, but I think its that way at all the Mods. We stayed at CBR Christmas 2008 and we had a great trip, but I would say CSR was more Christmasy.

we stayed at CSR this past Christmas and it was fabulous Never stayed at any of the other mods at Christmastime but I would choose CSR again in a heartbeat!

CSR looks great during christmas, but POR does off the carriage ride, but I still can't get over the pics of CSR during Christmas

We went at Christmas time a few years ago, and we stayed at CBR. I really wish we hadn't. It was very cold and it was so tropical looking that it didn't fit in with the holidays. We stayed in the pool for only 20 min. one afternoon, it just wasn't warm enough for us.

We have stayed at a variety of resorts for Christmas but our two favorite stays were CSR and POFQ. Both resorts were beautifully decorated although I think CSR is slightly better. The horse and buggy rides at POFQ were wonderful as was the campfire each night. The meal we had on Christmas Eve at CSR (Maya Grill I think) was the best meal we had that trip -- and we ate at several table service/signature restaurants. We bring a 5 foot tree and lots of decorations and for some reason the room at POFQ seemed bigger when decorated than the one at CSR. Either way, these two resorts win for us hands down -- even better than our Christmas stay at GF which was awful.

Most of the moderates have the same general holiday decoration types: swag and a medium sized tree in the lobby, wreathes and (maybe) some smaller trees around the guest areas.

Since we love New Orleans at Christmas time, I would probably pick POFQ, but that's just me. Nothing like hot beignets at Chicory Coffee on a cold day (even if they don't really have chicory in Disney and the beignets are not from Cafe du Monde).

Thanks for all the replies! CSR has always been our favorite resort and after seeing the pics of the lobby at Christmas, I think that's the winner.

Now I just have to get past the sticker shock of Christmas room prices!

Great Decision! And the sticker price is the reason we go on the 21st and leave on the 26th. At least then there are discounts available.
