Although we went last May, going in Dec., I am already planning our 2003 WDW vacation. Going to be staying 10 nights with me, DH, DD (5) and DD (2). I am leaning toward POFQ because Dh and I love New Orleans and the boat to DTD. I am subject to change my mind. Any opinions on which moderate to stay in?

POFQ is our favorite moderate simply because of the size and because you are the first on and first off the bus (it shares buses with POR. We have visited all of the moderates, but are afraid to try any of the others because you could end up really, really far from the pool, food court, bus stop. Convenience is important to us.

Yes, we prefer the theming at the FQ as well, and I think your kids would love the dragon slide!

I have to agree, POFQ is our favorite moderate. The kids love the pool and we love the quiet surroundings with the pretty landscaping. Have a great vacation!

POFQ -small resort. Great pool. First on and off the bus. It's lovely and I would def. stay there again. (I'm trying the Polynesian next trip, but I would recommend the POFQ anytime!)

I love the Caribbean Beach Resort for several reasons. The grounds are beautiful, aside from the main pool, there are pools in each of the islands, bikes and boating activities. This is a beautiful resort to just stroll around or sit on the hammocks by the beach when you want to relax and take a break.

We love CBR! The rooms are lovely. As a family of four, we especially like the double sinks. My kids love the pool. The food court is excellent. We have stayed at POR but found the staff to be much more accomodating at CBR. We also liked the atmosphere of CBR better. Last year, we stayed at the Swan and wished we were at CBR instead.

:( This is my problem, I can't decide between these two resorts (POFQ and CBR). I like the bigger room at CBR and the beach, but I also want to try POFQ and there is the boat to DTD. What to do, what to do?!? Maybe I'll wait until CBR's rehab is over and see how the resort is then? Thanks for the input so far.

We love CBR. The rooms are great, the atmosphere is great, and we love the "beaches." Also, with 7 bus stops, the crowds are usually a little thinner.

We've stayed at both CBR and POFQ. The differences we noticed:

The bus ride to CBR from the parks was much longer as there were so many stops before us. We were in Trinidad North (although we requested either Martinique or Jamaica so don't count on a requested location). I think we were the 5th stop and sometimes when the kids were hot and tired it was too long for them.

The kids loved the slide at POFQ and didn't really spend too much time on the one at CBR.

The food court at CBR was bigger (more people) and had more variety.

Loved the room divider sheet that curtain that pulls across the vanity area to seperate it from the bedroom area. Great for modest 11 year olds.

Bus wait times to the parks from both were equal..no problems there.

We had GREAT trips to both.

That being said we are trying CSR this next trip. But if we had to choose between CBR and POFQ (you can't go wrong with either) we would choose POFQ because if the the size of the resort and pool. I hope CSR isn't too big for us!!;)

I thought CBR was nice also. I think it depends on how much time you have to walk around and admire the scenerary. If you are traveling with kids (which we were)..and are in the parks almost the entire time (we were) then I think POFQ is perfect. Everything is much closer. If you don't mind walking an extra 5-10 minutes from the food court to your room...or you will have time to stroll around the lake and play on the beach then CBR may be a better choice. We go to Florida every summer for a "beach" vacation. When we go to Disney it is for the parks and not usually to spend much time at the resort. Like I said before..they were both clean, beautifully landscaped, wonderful CM's...no complaints at all. POFQ was just more convenient because of the size and we liked the pool better (when we do come back from the parks our kids LOVE to swim). Good luck :D

We have stayed at CBR and CS, my son loved the pool at CS. It has a great water slide and the over all landscape was great.
Good bus service!
Good luck with your decision have fun!:smooth:

We have stayed at both POFQ and CBR and enjoyed them both! CBR is very close to Epcot and MGM. We could see the fireworks and the top part of Spaceship Earth from our beach at CBR and even hear the music from the ToD parade fom the balcony -- very cool! POFQ has the boat to DTD, which might I add was great-very relaxing. I think they are both great(both have nice pools for the kids as well) and it just depends on your choice of theme and size. Request Martinique if you stay at CBR. This was very clsoe to the Food Court/Gift Shop and main pool.

Also, momx2 just wanted to say hey to a fellow Kentuckian. I will be down in Bowling Green on Nov. 2nd to tour WKU.

You can't go wrong with any of them.

CBR is our favorite. The rooms are just a bit larger, have a dressing curtain, and have just been redecorated. The beach theme is great for hot weather. There are beaches in front of each "island village" as well as on the Island near the main pool. There are also pleanty of quiet pools so that you never feel crowded. There is also bike and boat rental.

POFQ is great because of the size as well as its recreation of New Orleans. The pool is great. I also really enjoy the boat trip.

PORS is beautiful and has two different themes going on - the Southern Mansion, and the swampy, bayou feel in Alligator Bayou. Boatrights is a great restaurant. Like CBR, there are pleanty of pools to go around and lots of fun things to do (bikes, boats, fishing).

CSR is a beautiful resort. The main pool is wonderfully themed. The full service restaurant offers wonderful food, and .... there is a spa. CSR also offers thre distinct building types, the Ranchos, Cabana, and Casitas.

Again, any resort you pick will be great.

POFQ is my fav moderate, too. If you love New Orleans, you'll love it.:D

Soccer Princess---WKU is great. I graduated there a few (ha!) years ago.

Thanks everyone for so many responses! Now leaning back toward CBR because of the larger room. Got a 2 DDs, 5 and 2, with DH. May need the extra room. But I'm sure to change my mind a few more times. I don't plan on making our ressie until I get back from our Dec. trip.

We love POFQ also, smaller easier to navigate resort, plus you have the use of all the pools and food court at Riverside with just a very short walk. Kids really love the dragon slide.
