I have booked a 10-day WDW trip for Feb. at CBR. After reading many reviews, I'm not so sure I still want to stay at CBR - too large, too many bus stops, etc. Could some of you help me out......which moderate is your favorite and why? Also, is there something in particular that you didn't like about one of the moderates? Thanks!

Hi kathyh! We need more information :). How many kids and what are their ages?

Sorry....family includes myself, DH and DD (will be turning 5 while at WDW)

We stayed at CBR this past spring and loved it. There are a lot of bus stops, but it wasn't really bad. We were in Aruba, and that wasn't too far from anything. I haven't stayed at any others (yet :) ), so I don't have any real comparison.

I love both of the Port Orleans resorts. :lovestruc If you are worried about being close to everything I would go for POFQ. It is much more compact than POR and has only 1 bus stop. However on weekdays you will circle POR to pick up their guests too. I have stayed at CS and thought it was too far away from everything. Are you planning on driving or renting a car? It is very easy to find your way to the parks so you could just pick which resort appeals to you most. :flower:

We aren't planning on renting a car. We're going to use ME for transport from airport to WDW. Hope they have worked out the kinks. I was reading about the problems people were having with it (on another thread) when it first started up. Have you used ME??

We love CSR. It is also large but not quite as large as CBR. It also offers an intenal shuttle system to help with the walking.

CSR doesn't share buses with other resorts and has fewer bus stops than CBR, only 4 bus stops. Buses seem less crowded because of the conventioneers. Great bus stops at the parks except for MGM.
CSR has the best pool with the largest hot tub and 123 ft Jaguar slide
Great theme and beautiful landscaping

I love CSR for older kids, but my choice for a younger child would be POFQ. The resort is small and quaint wiith no room more than a 5 minute walk to the food court/bus which makes it ideal after a day in the parks. (As an aside, I suggest that you take a stroller for your birthday girl even if she doesn't use it at home. My 6 year old routinely falls asleep in hers at WDW and DL/). I also like the pool better for young children and beginner swimmers/sliders. My DD loved the pool in summer 2004 (when she turned 5 at WDW) and went down the slide many times. It's a pretty tame slide and (unlike CSR) you can see your kids when they start down the slide. Disney will allow you to borrow a life-vest so she should be able to enjoy the pool and slide even if she is not a strong swimmer.

I would say CSR. We are going back for our 3rd CSR stay this December. THe pool is wonderful, the buses have always run well for us, and the resort just feels better to us.

another vote for either po, bur pofq would be first choice. love the pool.
much smaller and closer feeling.

We've stayed at all the moderates and our runaway favorite is CSR. The pool and slide are great, the resort landscaping and theming are the best, Pepper Market has lots of variety and real good food. A surrey ride around the resort, especially at night, is something we love to do!!! Can't wait for our 3rd CSR stay in August!!!

Another vote for POFQ. We were there this Sept with MIL (70), 2 DS(22), DH, myself ad DGD (4). She loved POFQ, the pool area, the walkways, the small size, the boatride to DTD or to POR. At POR there are bikes to rent and there is a buggy ride. They are sister resorts so you can use the pool, etc over there as well. Mainly we stayed at POFQ, the play ground is nice and all buildings are close to the main building and bus stop. Bus stop is first on and first off, they do go to POR some times but it was never a long trip. :flower:

With a 5 year old, I also vote French Quarter. It's smaller, shorter walks to everything, boat to Downtown disney, pool with the dragon slide is for younger kids.

I have stayed at both CSR and POFQ love both of them! With a 5yr.old I would stay at POFQ. Everything is close by but you do share busses. CSR is more spread out but I prefered the bus system. The lines for PO seemed very long leaving the parks at night! :flower:
