Which mod should we choose?

We are cancelling our current reservation because we are tired of worrying about free dining. We found an agency with great deals and can get a package with dining at the same price as a mod with free dining so are going to book with them. We can do POFQ or CBR. Which would be better? We are going for 7 nights in September and it will be my husband, myself and our 2 year old son (he will be 2.5 then). Thanks!

We have stayed at CBR and Port Orleans but not the French Quarter. I will say that our favorite resort is CBR. Have a great vacation.

WE really love CBR, but we like the preferred locations best. We have stayed standard in Jamaica, though and found the location to be fine. there are some standard locations where we would not want to stay, so we usually book preferred.

POFQ is my least favourite moderate, but with a 2 year old it would probably be OK. POFQ is small enough that you do not need a preferred room as all rooms are conveniently close.

So, I would book CBR preferred as first choice, but POFQ as second choice.

POFQ for me. I love that it's a smaller resort, the pool is great and it's lovely getting the boat to Disney springs. CBR is a huge resort, I remember my brother buying roller blades when we stayed there and he would go to and from the food court on them!

We love POFQ. It's our favourite resort. There is a new splash pad there which your little one might enjoy (we have teens, so haven't used it). The compact resort is nice after having done a lot of walking in the parks. Your little one might enjoy the boat ride to Disney Springs. BTW POFQ does not get a lot of discounts / special offers so if you received a good price, I'd say go for POFQ. Have a good trip!

We are planning to stay at POFQ this September depending on what the dining plan does. We love POFQ and this will be our 3rd stay there. We tried to stay at CBR back in 2002? I believe and it ended up being closed for remodeling so we were upgraded for nothing to the Polynesian. So we ultimately never ended up staying at the CBR. I have heard and read numerous reports about how spaced out everything is at the CBR so that has been somewhat of a deterrent for us to stay there!

FYI free dining dates aren't usually released along with booking until the beginning of May!

I'd recommend POFQ for your family since the small layout and single bus stop may be better with your toddler. POFQ also has a wonderful new splash pad.

So we are thinking POFQ, it's what DH wants and being compact may be good with a toddler. I'd love to stay at the Caribbean but I think I'm going to give in :) plus I won't feel bad if free dining does come it because POFQ usually isn't included

I recommend POFQ. We have stayed at all of the mods and CBR is our least favorite. When we stayed at CBR, the bus service was horrible. The resort is so big and spread out. POFQ is small, has a great pool and new splash pad. They also have a pretty good food court, and my kids have always loved taking the boat to Disney Springs. Plus at POFQ, you can also use the pool at POR, which is nice too.

Our very first time to Disney we stayed at CBR so it will always be my fav mod. It was just magical, so tropical with beautiful bright colors, so beautiful, just loved it there. Depends on which building you get as far as being farther away from things. It was what hooked us on Disney for life. POFR is ok and yes more compact, but is probably our least fav mod, a little blah for us, but the boat ride to downtown Disney is fun and the one thing nicer than CBR.

Pre refurb I would have said POFQ. Since CBR had the refurb that's my pick! The rooms a fresh and the grounds and amenities are great! FQ is nice but it's small and lacks the resort feel for me.

CBR is our fave- we stayed there five years in a row. Really nice rooms and the pools at each area are amazing- not crowded! It's the best hotel to relax at in my opinion!

POFQ would be better with a toddler- the resort is small and compact enough that your room doesn't seem like a long hike just to get to the main building. And for us, we prefer the one bus stop of POFQ vs the multiple bus stops at CBR. The refurbished splash pad is perfect for the younger crowd. The POFQ is also nice because you have the option to take the boats to Disney Springs and share amenities with POR
