My favorite Mod Resort is POFQ but I know that even during slow season you can wait quite a bit for the busses. Which Mod resorts seems to have the best transportation? Also, just in case this plays a factor in your answer, the time in question for being at the resort would be the Christmas – New Years week.

CSR wasn't too bad with busses although we did seem to stop at Blizzard Beach randomly on the way to the parks a lot, even though it wasn't open. The bus driver said it was for the mini golfers but we never saw anyone there.

Our Favorite Mod is CBR Stayed there a few times and enjoyed every minute of it!:cool1:

Our fav is POFQ. I have yet to stay at any resort that I feel had great bus service. We recently stayed at POP in the beginning of Dec (slow time) and almost always had to stand while leaving the parks. I've always had good luck with the POFQ buses but you are going at a busy time, if bus service is a concern maybe you should just pick the resort you want based on theming and rent a car to drive to the parks.

Definitely CSR-
landscaping is beautiful and
CMs are the best at WDW.
Pepper Market is a wonderful counter service restaurant
Maya Grill is one of the best on Disney property.
If you have kids, then CSR is even better because of the Dig Site pool.
We have never waited long at all for busses and have never stopped at Blizzard Beach-maybe that's a seasonal thing?
I say all this after visiting WDW since the year after it opened. We've stayed at every mod and deluxe and now own DVC. MY DH and I just returned from a trip to the GF concierge and I still like CSR the best.

We've stayed at the CBR twice and the bus system was always very efficient. The longest wait we ever had was 20 minutes. It was our sleep in day and we weren't ready to leave until about 10:30 a.m. We were walking across the parking lot when the Epcot bus pulled out. Of course, that was the bus we were looking for. 10:30 a.m. is also not the busiest time of the day either.

At all other times, we were on a bus in about 5 to 10 minutes. Sometimes there were two and three buses at the bus stop at once.

The CBR is very centrally located. It never took us long to reach any destination.

The theming at the CBR is fantastic. Lots of bright colored buildings, lush landscaping, white sandy beaches, a marina..........it's like a Disney vacation and a tropical/beach vacation all rolled into one.

We love the POR. It is a beautiful, lush resort. We have never had a problem with the buses. The rooms are nice and the food court offers alot of choices for all.

Thanks for all of the replies. Yeah, transportation is my key factor in this. I'll actually be staying at the Boardwalk Inn this trip but my mother and grandmother are coming down for a few days of my trip to spend my birthday with me and I'm concerned about my grandmother. She’s 76 and disabled and while she doesn’t require a wheel chair (although I’m certain that we’ll have to rent her one at the parks for the day) when she’s hurting and tired at night I’m trying to figure out which resort seems to have the best transportation.

I understand that it will be the busiest time of the year and regardless, she’ll have to wait a bit. I wanted to know if anyone thinks that one mod resort seems to stand out as far as transportation service. The only mod I’ve stayed at is POFQ (which I love) but when I was there Sept. 2006 (a slow week) I felt that transportation for this resort could be rather slow. Maybe they’ll have more busses running for Christmas week where I wouldn’t have to worry about this? I know that POFQ is the smallest mod and if no one thinks that transportation is better at any of the other mod’s then I’m going to recommend this to them as it’s a easy resort to move around.

As for renting a car, since the parking lots will be jammed packed that week I’m not going to recommend that – and I don’t quite trust my mom (love her bunches) to try and navigate her way around Disney property. Also, if you’re there that week, I promise you, you wouldn’t want her to be trying to navigate her way around Disney property while you are also on the road.

Since POR and POFQ share the same bus service, POR is out. But can anyone tell me the differences between the Caribbean Beach resort and the Coronado Springs? I have heard several good things about CS but I’ve never heard of anyone comparing those two resort together.

I've never stayed at the CS but have stayed at the CBR. From what I have read, both resorts are spread out so I don't know that that should be a determining factor.

The theming at the CBR is beach/tropical. The theming at the CS is more of the Southwest type theme. The rooms at the CBR are 340 square feet which is slightly larger than the other moderates at 314 square feet.

While I don't know about the CS room layout, I can tell you that the CBR has a lots of storage areas. There was an armoire, a nightstand, a bench with large drawer beneath and a sink/closet area. The sink/closet area has two sinks which came in handy for our group.

As I said before, the bus system ran very efficiently during both of our stays. Never waited long for a bus to arrive or to pick us up when we left the parks.

I don't think you could go wrong with a stay at the CBR!

Have stayed at CBR the last two years in early December and loved the transportation. It's the reason we are staying again in July even though the main pool will be closed. We also never waited more than 20 minutes at the parks to get a bus back to the resort. If you request preferred location - you are also close to the food court. We never waited more than 15 minutes for a bus except the time that I wasn't paying attention and I missed the bus while standing right in front of it.
