Easy question, huh? I expect a lot of different answers, so give me your reason as well! The boys are 14 and 11. We've been to CSR and LOVED the pool, but want to try something different. Just not sure if we can beat that pool!

Our visit is in June so yea, the pool is a BIG deciding factor!:rotfl:

we were at Port Orleans in Aug. and that pool was also fun... but my boys are also 5 and 7... For a resort I like POR better but for the pool id have to say CSR....

I agree CSR seems to have a bigger pool, with a better slide. My kids have always liked it the best, even though we don't stay there as often.

CSR's pool is incredible but IMHO and my kids', so is POR's. For the age of your boys, I think POR's main pool would be a winner. My son (11 when we stayed at POR), loved it that they had these huge bucket type things that poured water down in the pool in a massive sort of way! He also thought the slide was pretty good. And I for one like it that at POR, (and CBR and POFQ for that matter) the food court is next to the pool. I can understand why CSR's isn't since Pepper Market is not your average food court and they have a lot of business travlers that don't want to be dining with people in their swimsuits but it bugged me. The pool bar had food at CSR but it was limited in selection.

POFQ's pool is better for little kids in my opinion. Its smaller and since this resort has no quiet pools it fills up fast. I think your kids might be bored with this one.

CBR's pool slide was not as great as CSR's and POR's according to my kids but the pool itself was very nice. Also CBR's quiet pools were the nicest of any of the mods in my opinion. And having the beach right there too is also a winner. CBR is my favorite mod, but POR's pool wins by a hair. Also, I belive, CBR's main pool is about to be rennovated so that should be checked into for ppl thinking about staying there.

I love CSR!! Check out these threads and visit my CSR website below.

Best mod pool. It offers a great slide (123 ft long), an arcade, a sand volleyball court, and a playground at the main pool area.

Wow...thanks. That's a big answer!

I see that CSR is overwhelmingly a preferred pool, but what you said about the food court at POR being next to the pool...that sounds great. We like food courts (picky eaters), and for it to be next to the pool. That's a plus.

Thanks so much everyone. I'm sure this question has been asked plenty of times before, so you were very nice to give me such well thought-out answers.

That's true but CSR has Siestas poolside where you can get anything that you could get at POR's food court and it is included in the DDP. The menu is great and so are the nachos.

Actually there are quite a few items not on that menu at Siesta's that they have at the POR food court. Namely salads and the grab n go type sandwiches as well as a wider variety of hot foods and desserts. Siestas is mainly hotdogs, a burger and a chicken sandwich all served with fries. They did have a wrap and a fruit cup too. But nowhere near a foodcourt selection. And no breakfast which can be nice if you like to be at the pool in the morning. You can refill your CSR mug at Siesta's which is good and since its a pool bar you can get plenty of adult beverages.

Actually there are some things I did not see on that menu at Siesta's. Namely salads and the grab n go type sandwiches and fresh fruit. They did have a pretty decent selection and you can refill your CSR mug but I don't remember the menu there being as extensive as the POR's food court.
Yes, they have fruit cup for $2.99. No salad but they do have a great chicken ceasar wrap! Here is a photo of the menu from buzz2001's site.

I understand that, I love Siesta's but it does not have anywhere near the selection of a food court and no breakfast. I would call that menu limited, especially if you are trying to eat healthy. And the fruit cup is tiny and only grapes and melon unlike the larger fruit plate at a food court. Here is the POR lunch/dinner menu for comparison and there is also a full breakfast menu on that same sight:

I also don't see a kids menu for Siesta's not sure how they handle those credits on the DDP.

Yes, it is limited but it's an option. It's just typical food court fare without any walk. The POR menu seems limited in itself compared to the PM menu. http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_pm.htm. The bottom line to both resorts is where you room is in comparison to everything because they are both large resorts.

Oh yeah, if you are going to compare POR's food court to Pepper Market, thats a different story as far as choices. Thats the one foodcourt (but to me its not really a food court) on WDW property that I can see actually drive over to go eat at even if I wasn't staying there. Also, its hands down the best food court deal on the DDP and just generally feels more upscale, more adult oriented. POR's food court is actually more varied than POFQ's or CBR's in my opinion. I just do like it that they are next to the main pool. That is the one and only thing I did not like about CSR. Not a biggie and not enough to keep me from staying there again though!

Maybe I'll put a little picture of each one up on my wall and throw a dart.:rotfl2:

As all things WDW, I suppose you can't go wrong. And I gotta tell you....I didn't even know about Siestas. Our CSR visit was a real quickie. Loved it, maybe we'll stick with it.

Arrrrghhh, where are my darts?

:scared1: We've just booked at CBR and this could be a huge problem for my kids! We're going 4/25 through 5/1 - does anyone know when this renovation is supposed to happen?? I would seriously consider changing my ressies if it's over our vacation....

The main pool will be closed Jan- June 2008.
