Planning for Oct 2013, my mom would join us *she'll be barely 53 then* myself and my kids, who will then be 13 :scared1: and 10 :sad1: *a double digit.

10/09 we stayed at POP and enjoyed it, considering a mod for our return visit.

Thanks in advance.

We've stayed at POFQ & Coronado Springs and I like Coronado - I would go back. Feels like you get a lot of value for the price. But there is a lot of walking!

My Mom ( in her early 60s), my Husband, and myself (we have no kids), went Thanksgiving 2011 and stayed at POFQ. It is small so no matter which building you are in it is a short walk to the food court and bus stop. There is a boat to DTD and you can also take it to POR if you decide to eat at that food court there which is bigger and they have a restaurant. This resort is centrally located so the bus ride is short to the parks. It was fairly quiet and the staff was wonderful.

As for mods, POR and POFQ are our favorites. There is so much personality and themeing both on the grounds and in the rooms. The on site dining choices are very good and we love the boat to DTD. We've always been very pleased at either of these sister resorts.

I go to WDW several times a year and have pretty much settled on the moderates as my favorites. I'd rank them:

#1. CSR-consistently has the best bus service, most comfortable beds, best pool, longest pool slide, biggest hot tub on property, only moderate to have a health club/spa/beauty salon, has the most adult feel. We love the beautiful fountains in the Casita section and the lovely white sand beaches and hammocks in the Cabanas. Not a fan of the Rancho section though. If you happen to be on the DDP the Pepper Market is a very good deal--breakfast and lunch are buffets but still a counter service credit.

#2. POFQ-smallest resort on property so no room is very far from anything, love the boat to DTD and Elliott Dyson's show in the lounge. The pool is a little kiddish though and they don't have a quiet pool. They share a bus with PORS, but POFQ is the first stop so you pretty much always get a seat in the mornings.

#3. PORS-beautiful resort, love the boat to DTD, love their food court and just the general laid back feeling of the resort. We also love Ye Haw Bob's show in the lounge.

#4. CBR--not a big fan--the resort just feels alot bigger than the other three, housekeeping seems to always stink, have always had bad luck with the bus service, not a fan of their food court or TS restaurant, the main pool and hot tubs always seem to be jam packed. They are also the only moderate that won't have queen size beds, just full size. It is a very pretty resort though.

I would go with POR for all the reasons already explained.

Do you like the New Orleans Mardi Gras theme or the Southern Bayou?
Do you like the Caribbean island theme or the
Southwest?

Thanks so far all.

To the quoted above -

Kids prefer of the POs - River/S Bayou. CSR looks lovely.

*Queen beds are a must + room for a rollaway or twin air mattress*

Good choice! If you want for one of your daughter to have her own bed, you can request (not guaranteed, unless you are a group of 5) the Alligator Bayou (AB) because this has the Murphy bed which will be perfect size for either of your child. POR and POFQ (and CSR) has the two queen beds.

Just a little tip. Because POR and POFQ are sister resorts, your family can take the boat ride or stroll down along the river to POFQ and use their ammenities. So if your children would like to check out their pool, they can swim there. :)

What's nice about POR/POFQ is you can take a nice relaxing boat ride to DTD.

Beignet is a must try at POFQ food court. This is a nice option for breakfast or for snacks. :)

Enjoy your stay!! I think you will like this resort!

We have stayed at the CSR nine times (I am currently 54 and DH is 59) and we love everything about it -- the heavenly queen beds, sliding doors between the bedroom/bathroom area for privacy and quiet while getting ready in the morning, largest hot tub of all the moderates, a spa if you want a massage, great themed pool, three quiet pools, numerous food options, etc.

The only thing preventing us from going back for stay number 10 is that we can get a cheaper studio at OKW renting points.
