Me & DH and twin 3 year olds need help in deciding where to lunch at MGM.

Out of the following, which would you choose?
40's Prime Time Cafe, Hollywood & Vine, Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant, or is there another not listed that you would recommend? We are on the Disney Premier Pkg with Dining Plan. Or...is there a Disney Resort with a good restaurant that is kind of close to MGM??

(Due to all of the great info everyone shares on this board, I have picked out Whispering Canyon for our MK day, and Le Cellier on our Epcot day).

Thank you for any advice!

With three year olds I'd go for Sci-Fi. I know my kids always get a kick out of sitting in the cars. For the best food however, my pick would be Hollywood Brown Derby.

Hi and welcome to the DIS!

If I were you I'd look at the menus and pick the one that appeals to you the most. H&V is a "plain" restaurant, meaning no entertainment. At PT the entertainment varies on how into it you and your server are, and at the Sci-Fi everyone gets to see the campy movie trailers.

You will get many opinions on the food in each one, and if you do a search on these boards you will find plenty of opinions on every restaurant. But don't go by what others say, everyone's taste is different. Go by what you will like.

Are kids welcomed at the Brown Derby? Thinking of going there as we will be at MGM on my birthday.

Sure...it's Disney! Kids are everywhere, except V&As. It's not as "enteraining" as some of your other choices, but there will be plenty of kids there.

Brown Derby is the only place we eat at MGM (except for snacks from the Big Dinosaur, of course!). The food and service are wonderful, the atmosphere is attactive and interesting and children are definitely welcomed.

The food at Sci-FI is indeed not that great. I had a chicken sandwich and wouldn't order it again. The kid's did enjoy the cars, dim lighting, and glow in the dark ice cubes!

Depends on what you are looking for:

* If you're interested in cool atmosphere that your kids will love, pick Sci-Fi.

* If you're interested in a little more "adult" fun that your 3-year-olds might not "get," pick the Prime Time. They also have excellent food!

* If you want the convenience of a buffet (or not convenient, I don't know because I've never had 3-year-olds!), choose H&V.

For overall excellent food, I recommend Prime Time, Mama Melrose, or Brown Derby.

Half the fun is the planning and the anticipation...don't you agree? :p
