I'm looking for someone to tell me if the luau at the Poly or the one at Seaworld (or if there is another one you can recommend...) is better? Have you been to both?

We want something a little authentic with good food and show and I'm a little confused as to which one is better!

Thanks.

Done both. I was not impressed with either of them. (Now my SeaWorld was for a convention so maybe it was not the normal, but it was pretty bad. I snuck out early to go ride rides LOL!) I would pick the Hoop Dee Doo over either.

Ive done both and i like Seaworld better...better food and aircond......

:thumbsup2 Did the 1 @ Universal. Its actualy @ the Royal Pacific Resort. We enjoyed it.Did the 1 @ Sw afew years back.Have not done DW's.But out of the 2 We have done Universal had better food!!

We've done the one at the Poly and the one at the Royal Pacific Hotel at Universal.
We liked both, it's hard to compare, they are different.
The food was good at the Poly, the show was just good, not great.
The luau at the Royal Pacific Hotel was nice, the food was good, probably better than the Poly. It was more of a traditional show, not quite as kid friendly.
Which one I would choose would depend on if you have kids, where you are staying, etc.
I like to try different things and we liked both and are glad we did them!

I'll give you guys a little bit of background. We have done Hoop Dee Do before so that is out of the question.

We are taking my sister, who is an adult with Downs Syndrome, to WDW for the first time in February. She is completely obsessed with Hawaii and anything Hawaiian and we'd love to take her there but we know that the flight would be just way too much for her. So, on her birthday, we want to do a Luau while at the parks. She is shy so she wouldn't be the "participating" type that kids may be like... and we are all adults so we're looking for something that maybe caters more to adults.

DH and I loved Hoop Dee Do and Ohana. We'll be doing Ohana too of course... so if you have any Hawaiian suggestions to make our vacation better, I'd love them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd say the Poly would be great for the grounds and the lobby for before and after the luau, but if you are already doing 'Ohana, and would have that opportunity, I would recommend the luau at the Royal Pacific Hotel in Universal.
I've not been to the one at Sea World, so I can 't comment on that.
The Royal Pacific's luau was nice like I said and the food good. I can't remember how you get table priority (where you are seated), I think it is when you book or arrive, I can't remember. You can inquire on the Universal resorts board, I'm sure someone would know.
The RPH is really pretty in itself, it is not necessarily "Hawaiian" but a South Pacific feel. The grounds out back of the hotel are nice to walk in and you can even take a boat up to Universal just for the ride (we love doing this).
I hope this helps a little, if you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask. :)
