which loops are a little more secluded

My dh and I are going to the fort in October:banana: We have only been to the fort once, and we were in loop 1400 and we liked it o.k. this time we have a premium site, but not sure which loop is the best. We have a 30 ft. fifth wheel and would really like to know if there are any sites that are a little more private/secluded than others. we will not be visiting the parks everyday and would really just like to hang out at the campsite some days and relax. From what I can remember, I think most of the sites there are pretty close together.
Any advice??

I have not had the privilege of staying at FW yet, but I inquired about this recently. We are going with my parents in September and their 5th wheel is 40'. My Mom is not into all of the Disney stuff like we are so I wanted her to be "removed" from all of the stuff going on (seclusion). It was suggested to me to try loops 1600-1900. They are only Full hookups, but from what I understand (oh don't quote me on this) they are a little bigger and/or better maneuverable. Now I don't know if that means the actual sites are bigger or the loops are bigger? But I was told that a Preferred site (which is what I originally wanted) might be a tight squeeze with our size camper. The premium sites are 400-900, 1000 is being converted to premium, 1100 will be the next loop to be converted, and 1200-1400 are premium. In the FAQ section of this forum, you can look at a map to see where these sites are. Or Shan-man has done something on google earth that I am sure is out of this world! I am just inept in trying to figure it out. Hopefully someone else will chime in and offer a little more advice or steer you in a better direction. That is about the best I can do considering I have never even stepped on the grounds...but I will in 4 months!:yay:

If you want a secluded premium loop, then you want the 800 loop... especially toward the rear of the loop. Most of 800 backs up to woods, not another loop, making it very private. The sites are pretty wide with good vegetation too.

Liv, the advice to you was that Fulls are going to be better for you than Preferred sites, because the preferreds are often tight. Premiums (even in 1400) are much easier to get into than almost any Full or Preferred site.

I have had full and preferred sites that I could not get into because of various obstacles, fences, trees Etc. and this is a 30 ft 5th wheel. I would go with a premium which is now longer and wider. The back of 800 would be a good choice.

Yes, I realized that after I typed my info. I was looking at a Preferred, not a Premium. Trying to save for this darn GC definitely puts a Premium out of the question for me!:) Oh well, I was only trying to help and I knew someone with more knowledge would eventually come along and help castlehappy out and correct me!:rotfl:
So, for future reference, are Premium sites the largest? According to the WDW site, they have a larger concrete pad, but is the actual site larger as well?

Sorry if my last comment came across harsh, it wasn't meant to.

I wouldn't say that the site itself is much larger, except perhaps when compared to Preferred sites. But the large pad generally means that more of the site is usable on a Premium. All too often the space on a Full or Preferred is chopped up, or unusable because of grades falling away from the pad (even dropping off!). It's less of a problem recently since the Fort has been filling in some of the worst drop-offs. As far as I'm concerned, the biggest benefit of getting a Premium is the extra-wide mouth at the site entrance, the site markers are out of the way and backing in is a breeze.

Oh no, you did not come across harsh in the least. However, if I thought that you were being harsh, I would just put a booger in your toffee cookies. ;)

I can't recall who it was that previously posted that a lot of the sites in the Full and Preferred loops are "unusable" (especially loop1900) when I inquired about the difference between Preferred and Premium...other than price. Because there was not much difference between the Full and Preferred except price and location, and being as I felt my Mom would enjoy being away from the "activity", Full seemed a better choice for us. (That was a long sentence and I am not sure any of it made sense.)

My Dad was a truck driver for years so he can handle that 5th wheel like a 2-door sports car, so I am not worried about him getting it backed in. Of course now that I have said that, he'll probably take the side of their camper out along with a few site markers while trying to back in when we come!:rotfl:

I am staying with my Full site and when we come in September, if they decide they like the Premium sites better, we'll do that in January.
