On a isitpacked.com "Forget about it" day at DL, where would you start first- Fantasyland, Tomorrowland or Adventureland ?

My habit is to start in Adventureland, but if there are several rides in Fantasyland that you want to ride for sure, I'd probably go there first. The lines get really long for some of the popular rides and the lines feel boring - there's nothing to do or look at while in the lines.

Depends on the demographics of the group and what we're hoping to do.

I'd start in Fantasyland because I just have a preschooler, so half the stuff we want to do is there, and there's no opportunity to FP. Maybe send a runner over to Space Mountain to grab FP...

I also think it depends on whether the day has EMH/MM or not. If it has EMH/MM, then Tomorrowland and Fantasyland will already have lines/crowds. I would consider starting in Adventureland in that case because there won't be lines already (maybe grab FPs in TL first because they don't distribute FPs during EMH/MM). Otherwise, it really depends on what attractions you want to do the most. I would probably start with the attractions you want to do the most and then go from there (and remember to use FPs!).

The thing about those days is that they usually coincide with early opening, late closing and multiple night-time entertainment opportunities. All is not lost so long as you heed DL crowd dynamics. Parks fill up front to back, and E ticket + slow-loaders to the faster loading rides. Like was mentioned before, you then need to prioritize based on what the group wants to do: preschoolers will need to knock out all the FL rides first, where as teens shouldn't waste their time there.

Guess I need to give more information when I asked this.

So I have 3 days in DL, and will partition DL according to FL, TL & Adventure/Frontier/Critter for each day to RD.
Family of 4 with DS9 & DS12, and they only been to WDW twice but knows the drill - RD, follows plan etc further more 1st time in DLR so they are fairly charged up.
1st day will be 4th Dec which is the "forget about it" day and it should be with PTN & CP all rolled in, but NOT a MM/EMH day.
The 2 other days will be on the weekdays and is classified as "it alright" day.

The current plan is to go FL.
I have tweaked my plans like making ADR for Carnation cafe ( instead of Plaza inn ) to avoid long lines, sure there still an ADR line but hopefully shorter, skipped the shorter parade and go back to rest, returning at 3pm instead of 5pm to avoid deadlock at town square.

And the kids wants to do everything....

Having a rigid plan that restricts me to a land per day with a specific ride order doesn't sound fun to me. I'm all for not zig zagging across the park, but part of what I like about the parks are seeing different themes throughout the day. I guess every day is a forget about it day for me. If I'm with someone who doesn't go as often as I do I ask what they want to do first, and it's usually going to be Space Mountain or Haunted Mansion with the overlay. In DCA probably RSR or TSMM.

yes, the rides you mentioned are exactly those on our todo list.

So you mean I should start off by FP both SM and HM and then do.... PP and the rest in FL?

you will not be able to do peter pan on your first day. You will want to stay away from the castle hub area, so new orleans square and surrounds are your best choice for that sunday. Do your fast pass collection in that area. lots of NOS photography, as well as NBC photography. And right now this site is not properly functioning on the computer, so I can not scroll up and see what you have planned on the 4th, so maybe later in the evening you could do autopia and nemo.

Question is which land would you start in.... not which land would you only go to.
After the afternoon break, for sure we will be at another land. And lunch and dinner can also be at another land or outside D-Land.

Thanks for your hints on the lands.

As for PP, is it the same ride as the one at WDW ?
I really liked the design of the ride especially the way the buildings and stuff looked using the perspective of vision.
But if it is similar I don't think we will miss much if we do not do it.

My point was, the way I'd tour doesn't fit your plan, because you have 2 days where you have a rigid plan that stays entirely in 1 or 2 lands and doesn't cross the hub at all. On a "whatever" day I'd roam around in the lands you're planning to hit on other days and park hop to DCA, which you're not planning at all. You have your rides all planned for the other 2 days. Your options are to either try to hit some of those rides on day 1 and reconfigure your schedule on the following days if you've ridden them, or, make a list of everything that isn't on your schedule and do some of those things.

I would start in Adventureland/New Orleans Square/Frontierland area. Your kids are older and will likely appreciate Splash, Pirates, Indy, and Big Thunder more than Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan. Plus, that back area of the park gets busy slowly, and it's easy to grab a FP on your way in for Big Thunder or Haunted Mansion, head to Splash, Pooh, maybe snag an order of Mickey beignets and do Jungle Cruise, grab a FP for Indy providing you are within the window for HMH / BTMRR, then head over to ride Haunted Mansion / Big Thunder and voila! That's usually my go to plan, busy or not. The short stuffy switchbacks of Fantasyland aren't my favorite way to start my day, and I only use FP to ride Space Mountain and Star Tours in Tomorrowland. We usually skip Nemo and Autopia and Buzz Lightyear (unless we snag a convenient FP return time for Buzz). Love the Matterhorn, and even when the line gets halfway around the mountain, it's usually a 15 minute wait in a quickly moving line.

Have fun!

Most people who visit Disneyland are Americans, Canadians, or from countries that drive on the right side of the road. Because of that, walking traffic tends to mimic car traffic and people keep right making it difficult for people to go against the grain and go left. Because of that I would start the day on the left side of the park.

The rides plan is mostly till noon time or an additional ride after lunch. The aim is to optimise morning touring hours for the biggest bang.

Interesting concept.

Regarding Peter Pan; the DL version is not identical to one at the MK, but it's pretty similar. There are some different elements. I would watch a YouTube video of the DLR one to decide if it's different enough for you to spend the time waiting for it. The line gets long and tends to stay long all day. If you're one of the first people into the park in the morning, then I would head to Peter Pan and try to ride it first thing. However, if you get there and the line is already on the long(ish) side, I would skip it (maybe save it for the last attraction of the night) and do other attractions or go get FPs.

Just note that you have wait two hours or until the time window opens on the FP before you get the next FP and they are enforcing return times (so plan to return to the attraction during the time window printed on the FP). So, if you pull a SM FP at 8:00 am and the return time is 8:45 am to 9:45 am, you can pull your next FP at 8:45 am (when the time window opens). If the return time was 11:00 am to noon, you could pull your next PF at 10:00 am (two hours later) (caveat: you cannot get another SM FP until the time window opens for your current SM FP).
