Also avoid small world. You just get stuck in that corner and have no choice but to stay with the crowd.
Although recently we happened to be in Tomorrowland during parade time (But not the electrical parade) and everything was a 10 minute wait. I didn't even realize a parade was happening but just enjoyed the low crowds for a brief moment.
If you get over to the west side of main street (adventureland, frontierland, new Orleans square) there is quite a bit you can do with little wait from the time the parade starts to after the fireworks stop. That's what we normally do and we love it

Yes - getting over to the west side (Adventure/Frontier/NOS, CritterC) is the best strategy. We did this during 8:30pm EP last weekend. The lines were shorter and we did a ton. Extra fun to go on HM at night, no line for beignets at the beignet window, and best of all riding Big Thunder while the fireworks are lighting up the sky. Super fun!
I agree that either the west side is probably the best option, right now. When Fantasmic! debuts later this year (hopefully), then there really won't be any good (uncrowded) areas during the night (except perhaps the far-flung corners of the parks - Critter Country and the Launch Bay area of Tomorrowland).
Agree with many of the previous posters: Frontierland / NOS is the way to go. Not as many people as FL or TL. Feels like a good time to hit Pirates. Good luck!
