Which itinerary to chose! Special or not?

I am very interested in a 7-night cruise. I like the look of the Western Caribbean and the special cruise to Costa Maya, whcih includes two stops to Castaway Cay.

Is two stops at Castaway Cay worth it? Anyone here have any opinions about the Western Caribbean itinerary?

2 days at Castaway is great. Costa Maya isn't my favorite....but I'm on the cruise for the ship and CC, not for the other ports. The ship is the destination. All else being equal, I'd take 2 days at CC.

We are considering the Special cruise too, in October. What are the possible things to do in Costa Maya and in Cozumel? It will be our 1st 7 day cruise and we've never been to the western or eastern ports, so I'm curious whether this would be the way to go.

My last western cruise on DCL was the VERY BEST vacation that I ever had in my entire life (and we've been on A LOT of vacations) and the highlight of the trip was the cherry on top.... CASTAWAY. So a double dip cruise was a slam dunk for me. I'm sure it will be more crowded, but, in my opinion, worth it. If you hate crowds, go the week before or after the double dip cruise. I hear that there isn't much going on in Casta Maya, but they have the most important elements... sun, sand and water!

You don't really have to worry about the crowds on a DCL cruise. It almost always sails full. Even at CC it wasn't terrible. There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out.
