Which is your favorite value resort and why?

Do you choose a special room when you stay?

Looking for a hotel for a family of two with a little girl (5).

Tell me more about the dining, transportation, and amenities (pool) that you enjoy.

Thank you!!!:)

Once again, might I recommend that you post questions about resorts on the Resorts forum?

I loved Art of Animation. I stayed in the little mermaid room and loved it!!!! Although, the finding nemo pool is the best because they play music that you can only hear while your under the water!!!! (You can also find the pool at Art of Animation).
I really like AOA because it's wonderfully themed and has a cars, nemo, and lion king section for wonderful photo ops and playing.

The dining hall at any value is somewhat limited. I'm a very picky eater and found myself eating pizza, pasta, or burger every day at night when we got back. They have wonderful snacks however. They only thing is if your a open to close park go-er, only the pizza place is open at night.

The transportation is really good as well. I never had to wait longer than 15 min to get on a bus and I loved not sharing a bus with anyone. Also, if you don't mind walking, you can take the POP Century bus back to AOA and do site seeing there as well.

Hope this helps and hope you have a wonderful time!!!!

Oops! I was in a rush. That was totally in error! If someone knows how to switch it....please do!

hi,
my vote is for Port Orleans French Quarter, this is the smallest Disney resort, it only has 8 buildings and the furthest building is within a 5 minute walk of the food court, reception arcade, washers and shop. the best buildings are 2 & 5 they are by the pool and all of above amenities.

the bus stops are just outside the entrance, POFQ is always first pick up and most times depending on season go straight to the parks, return journeys sometimes go via POR. there is also the boat ride to DTD which is lovely and takes about 20 minutes.

the rooms are nice and were redecorated in 2011.

the pool is small but nice with a small dragon slide.

The theme throughout is Mardi Gra
cal:)

Love Pop Century for our value resort as you can see from my signature.

I always request the 70's section - it is close to transportation/food court and quiet.

Another Pop fan here. We love the 70s section, but last time we were there they hit me with that oh so nasty pixie dust and upgraded us to preferred pool view. I had the 1st floor room right next to Balloo, and I lovedlovedlovedloved it!!! If it weren't higher cost of the room, I would choose it every time.

Pop Century for us too. Loved both the 60's and 70's sections. We always request one of those and 1st floor. The busing is better at Pop. Rarely share with another resort. Food court used to be better, but it's still good. Like walking over to Art of Animation too. Would not want to stay in AoA Little Mermaid as it is very long walk to the buses/food court. But AoA is great to visit from Pop next door ;)

Love the theming and just the relaxed vibe at Pop. It's "Home" ;)

All Star Movies. We always request the Toy Story buildings because they're close to the food court. I just think ASM has the best Disney feel to it with the huge characters all over the place and the little ones LOVE it.

I agree

Loved movies and sports . Would stay at either again. Liked the toy story building in movies and surfs up in sports . Transportation was very easy at both. We stayed at POP this year and felt it was too big and the buses were horrible.

I have stayed at all of the All Stars over the years. Pop is great for not having to share a bus (assuming you are using WDW transportation), and the other 3 are fairly similar, but I prefer movies for that more "disney feel" others have mentioned.

AoA is absolutely gorgeous, and the food court seems significantly better an more varied than the other ones. I build my own pasta twice, and the pesto was delish.

Have a great visit! :goodvibes

This - Far and away the most "Disney" of all WDW resorts. :thumbsup2

Another vote for Art of Animation Little Mermaid room here. We initially stayed there with our DD for 2 nights during a split stay after being at GF and guess which place she loved better? Yup, LM room lured her in with all of the themed details! Our next WDW trip we stayed there exclusively and loved exploring the other themed areas including the pools beside the LM designated pool.

The food court is huge with many choices (I loved the made-to-order pasta!) and the bus wait was never long. The only hard thing was walking all the way back to the LM rooms (furthest from the bus stop) after a full day at the parks late at night with our little one.

Just keep in mind the LM rooms at AOA are usually excluded from any room discounts or free dining deals.

We are staying at the movies.. Is the toy story considered a prefer room? What would you consider the quietest building?

My favorite value resort that I have stayed at is Pop, 50's section, with a view of the lagoon. It's considered a standard view room, is peaceful and you can see the MK and Epcot fireworks from the room, if you request a higher floor.

The only drawback is you can't use the AoA pools. We walked across the bridge and checked out that resort. I would love to stay there.
