Which is the best WDW Deluxe Villa Resort?

Just wondering where you would suggest a family of 5 stay (mom, dad, grandma, 5-yr. old and 2-1/2yr. old) in Nov. or Dec. Grandma values her privacy so we're considering a 2-BR Villa. The idea of a kitchen sounds nice for breakfast and breaks for the kids. Convenience to the parks is also a plus. Thanks for your advice.

Since I'm a Boardwalk DVC owner, I'll say it's Boardwalk. However, since you have very young children, you might want to consider the Villas at Wilderness Lodge (VWL). They are just across the lake from MK which is where I suspect you'll be spending most of your time at. Having a full kitchen is so wonderful, as well as having your own personal washer and dryer. You also can't beat the whirlpool tub in the master bedroom for a relaxing massage from a day in the parks. We usually send a grocery list for breakfast and other food items to WeGoShop, and have them do the shopping, and then deliver everything to us. Remember though, the closer it gets to Christmas, especially Thanksging till, rooms at DVC's become almost non existant to get. Members have a 11 month window to book first in, and a lot of them have already done this for the upcoming holidays. You may want to try and rent points from a DVC member and see if they can get you in at this point. Also be awear that the holiday season at Disney is one of the busiest, and most crowded times of the year. Wall to wall people!

We always stay at the BCV. It the kids favorite. And DH and mine also. This will be our 3rd stay this October.

The kids love the pool, DH and I love the location. We still spend most of our time at the MK also and have never had a problem with the bus service.

If your favorite park is the Magic Kingdom, I would go for VWL.

If your favorite park is Epcot, I would go with BCV or BWV.

If your favorite park is Animal Kingdom or your kids love animals, I would go with AKV.

Thank you all very much for the info. I'm trying to find enough points from a DVC owner to rent, but so far, no luck. I've stayed at BWV before and REALLY liked to location. I like that you are closer to 2 parks versus just 1 at the others. However, we're considering AK because of the girls but is it really worth it? Do you really see the animals (up close)? If so, which rooms are best?

Are the VWL too rustic? Without sounding snobbish, we tend to lean more toward luxury.

We are planning on visiting the 4 theme parks over a 6 day period and really want to avoid the crowds.

I think all the DVC resorts have advantages. OKW villas are huge. But personally I wouldn't choose OKW or SSR without a car.

VWL have the same amenities as any others. But if that theme doesn't appeal to you, then I wouldn't choose it.

At AKV, the only villas open right now are in AKL itself. Most are located on the 5th floor which used to house the deluxe rooms. So the view is higher. Some people prefer that and others prefer the lower floors. There are also 5 2BR lockoff concierge villas that seem very hard to get. We were lucky enough to enjoy two short stays there this year and loved it.

We absolutely love BCV.

One thing to keep in mind for a VWL 2BR is that many of them are actually a combination of a 1BR with a studio attached by a connecting door. This might be an advantage in your case as Grandma could lock the connecting door and have even more privacy.

If you are more interested in a "luxury-type" theme, I think you might be most comfortable with the Boardwalk Villas.

i think savanna view rooms are worth it - opinions vary, though.

i would also warn you that if you're referring to finding a reservation for THIS nov/dec, you're liable to find everything is already booked up. nov/dec is HUGELY popular among DVC owners due to low pt costs and wdw's great decorations...most everything gets booked up 10-11 months in advance. (especially at VWL, which is a relatively small resort) but you may luck into finding someone who made a reservation already made who intends to sell it - best of luck!
