Which is the best Value Resort??

We are planning a trip to WDW in May. Although we would love to stay at AK, it just will not be in our budget. Does anyone have any suggestions for which Value Resort is the best??? I'm sure my 6 year old daughter would love the Movies but my husband is a sports nut???? I don't really have a preference

Ditto spiceycat's response. My fave is POP. It has great theming, a fantastic food court and dedicated bus service. It's definitely my pick of the values. But, if you're trying to decide between Movies and Sports I'd opt for movies simply because I like the theming better.

The busses for Pop and Sports are much better than Movies so if you're relying on WDW transportation I would not go with Movies. My brother and his family were at Movies this past week and the busses were horrible.....always full, long lines etc. They ended up taking cabs most of the time just to get anywhere in a timely manner.

If you asked me before my most recent trip, I would have said Pop Century. But after 4 visits there, I think I'm just tired of it.

You can't go wrong w/ Sports or Movies. Sports will feature remodeled interiors by the time you go...so it will be the "newest".

We have stayed at them all and our choice is Pop Century. It is the largest and newest.

Busses pick up and drop off Sports before Movies or Music...so you're on first in the morning and off first at night

I have a different recommendation.

We love Music. All there rooms have been recently remodeled. The pool theme is wonderful (guitar, piano).

As an experiment, they have evening movies on an outdoor screen by the large pool (my dd.4.5 LOVED this), plus a lot of other activites (trivia contests, water baloon toss contests, hula hoop contests, etc). If you're not the type to end up at the pool for some relaxation then these activities may not provide much added value. For us, it was a huge plus. My dd won a Pretty Pony and a big box of candy and those two prizes were some of the biggest highlights of her trip.

I find the landscaping at this resort to be quite lush and more upscale then the other values. I absolutely love Music and have picked it over moderates.

We loved Pop when we stayed there this summer. Our FAVORITE part was the Frozen Cokes for the unlimited mugs! No other resort has these, and my d and I made great use of this! They also had games by the pool for the kids during the day, and at dinner they danced in the food court. They also have this walkway with signs telling about the different years.

Oh, my every day my girls went out front and drew on the sidewalk with the chalk at the entrance. They loved this (and my kids are in middle school...but they still loved all of this).

If you are staying at All Stars, we have only been at the movies and music, and my kids liked the movies better, but you can walk around to all of them, so which ever one you stay at you can still see the theming of the others if you like.

We probably wouldn't stay at All Stars again, we love Pop for the values (we stayed by the big Mickey Phone).

How interesting! When we stayed at Music (mid thru late Oct) they said the pool activities (trivia, etc) were being only offered at Music as an experiment. Do you think they have branched out? If that is the case, we might try Pop; from what I've read on allears they have a better food court menu.

We decided to go value for our 2008 trip as our 09 is a big family gathering.

After reading up a ton (we go every year to WDW, but do mods) we settled on Pop century.

It came down to Pop or AS Music and it was close in our family. We just felt that PoP had their own bus system and the overall theme had more appeal to us.

The reader reviews also swayed us towards Pop. So cross your fingers and we will see how it goes.
