I am getting ready to plan for my Disney trip for March and I am new to the whole food allergy thing. I was wondering which resort would be the best to stay at: POP, POFQ or CB.

The foods I have to stay away from are: Dairy, Soy, Red Meat, Seafood.

Thanks for any help. :flower3:

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

It really makes no difference as far as food. All three have food courts while CBR does also have a restaurant, but that is dinner only.

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information. If you go to Post #3 and scroll down to "dietary restrictions" you will get a lot of help.

Or, if you want an easier route to the FAQs, click on the link in my signature.

My good friends son has terrible food allergies and just raves about Disney being so accomodating. SHe has stayed at Carribean Beach,French Quarter, and also her favorite Coronado SPrings...On her ressie it is stated that her son has food allergies. But then about 2 weeks before she goes she has talked to one of thehead cooks/chef(whatever you call, I am not sure politically correct) and explained allergies. They have gone to the health food store for her and purchased some items so that he can also have Mickey Mouse waffles just like his non allergic sister and several other items that have made Disney just another reason for her the most wonderful place along with safest for her son. I was floored when this was done and just so happy for her and her son....Good luck....

Thanks for the welcome and the information. I did notice on the CB menu that they have a grilled chicken and a turkey sandwich which is the two things that I can eat so I was kind of leaning that way but I wanted to see what kinds of food were possible at the other resorts. I am going with other family members and they were leaning towards POP because of the price but if I can't find anything to eat I'd rather not stay. We eat alot of our meals at the foodcourt and quick service counters but I have been reading that it is easier for a table service to prepare things.

Pop and POFQ are our favourite resorts. We tried CBR one time but were switched to another resort due to issues having absolutely nothing to do with food. Food-wise I wouldn't hesitate to stay at any of them again.

Food-wise, our favorite is hands down Pop. They simply have the most selection. If the food court has the ingredient then they'll make you a safe meal of your choosing. Chefs at all of the resorts will make you feel special and safe but at Pop they just have more options. We've stayed at Pop three times with food allergies and loved it each time. We're going back for our second stay at POFQ in 2 weeks so clearly we enjoy that as well.

ETA: If you like chicken and turkey then I'm not sure why you're not seeing anything on the Pop menu that you like. They carry both and will gladly customize safe meals for you. Don't forget to order sundaes and milk shakes made with rice ice cream and rice milk. Yummy!!!!

Thanks. I'll check the POP menu again but this sounds great. I love POFQ also. My fav. resort.

OK now I get it they have those foods so something could be done for me. LOL Sorry I'm new to this so I'm learning.
One more question at POP do I talk to one person or do I go to each station and talk to the chef there.

At any resort food court you walk up to somebody and ask to speak with a chef regarding food allergies. The person you speak with will go find a chef to help you. At Pop I generally go to the end of the line where they're making the sandwiches and salads since that's usually the least busy station and it's beside the door where they'll go to find the chef. At POFQ we generally went over to the burger station. We do try to eat at non-peak times so the chefs will have more time to be able to talk to us and prepare something special for us and so we're not waiting in long lines to even speak with somebody to get a chef (also because DD12 is autistic and the chaos of peak dining times has the potential to lead to an autistic meltdown).
