which is the best moderate?

We Disneymooned at POR in March 2006 and loved every second of it. The waterview mansion rooms are well worth it!

It'll be POFQ for our trip this December. Neither of us has ever stayed there and decided to check it out.

My family did stay at CBR once MANY years ago. From what I remember it was way too spread out.

haha!! Seems as if the votes are split. In the end, I don't think you can go wrong with any of them!

My husband *loves* the Coronado. I think mainly because he used to travel by himself, and there are fewer children there (due to it also being a convention hotel). He also raves about the breakfast there. I have to admit the main pool looks really neat.

I've only walked around the Port Orleans Riverside, though, and thought it was quite beautiful. The main hall with the restaurant etc seemed pretty cool as well. The river is incredibly romantic as is the boat ride to Downtown Disney.

Hubby didn't care for the Caribbean Beach, but it could be the person he was with at the time. It is the oldest of the moderate resorts, which means beds could be a bit more broken down (if they haven't been updated...not sure) but the rooms are bigger.

POR - look no further - it is beautiful, serene, comfortable, has amazing amentities for a moderate (love that boat ride to DTD), excellent food options, etc. I can't say enough about it.

Ditto! I just can't seem to break myself away from POR. I have stayed at Deluxe before but I went back to POR and figured that I can stay at a place that I love at a fraction of the cost!!

CSR is our favorite. We love it so much that we chose it over the Polynesian for our 7th stay for our upcoming 25th wedding anniversary trip. We love the Pepper Market, the Casitas, the quiet pool, the spa and the moonlit walks we take around the resort with all the beautiful landscaping/lights around the walking paths.

This question gets asked practically every day on this site. Which mederate is the best? Its like asking the less filling or tastes great question on beer commercials. Everyone is going to have a different opinion. I say you now have an excuse to go to both....You gotta know the answer and how will you really know unless you try them. Im hitting CSR this year and POR for 2009 If you still cant make up your mind wait two days and this question will be asked again with a whole different group giving their two cents.

yup, exactly true. Someone .... I can't remember who, had a really great answer to one of these "Which value/moderate/deluxe (doesnt' matter which) is best" questions. They said ... and I paraphrase here ... pick the resort for which the "theme" suits you the best, all are GREAT and all have their positives and negatives and you will get a different answer from every single person you ask ... but they are all DISNEY and you likely will not be dissapointed with your decision no matter what you choose.

For example, if you have never been to New Orleans, but always wanted to, try POR or POFQ. If you have never been to the Southwestern United States, and have always wanted to go, than try CSR .... etc. Look at the theming closely and simply pick the resort that best suits your family's eyes ... get everyone in on it and let it be a group decision ... you don't want to be the one who chose the theme based on your opinion only, and find out later that your spouse and your kids really do not like a southwestern theme, can't stand it, never liked it, never will.

Gather your family around the computer and choose the theming that you can all agree on ... or better yet, get the DVD, and then go for it!! Have fun!!

Well, We have stayed at all 4, and here goes. CSR was a very nice and pretty resort. Rooms were great, nice landscaping,etc. The only bad I thought was the transportation to and from parks. Almost seen a fight one night when people from Downtown Disney said they had waited 1 1/2 hours for a bus.This was in early Oct.
CBR, still nice landscaping, but the layout was confusing and the resort was HUGE, and rooms a little out of date, we stayed there this past Sept.
PORFQ probably is my favorite. Small not many bus stops room was nice, not much action,etc. Still just because of size I like this one, plus a boat to DOwntown Dis. Riversdie Our second best nice, lots of bus stops, but still like the layout and the boat to DTS. Prefer the the mansions over the Bayou, stayed in mansions in may and Sept. Bayou in May in the past..

My favorite is POFQ. It's small and very romantic. The hot tub is very secluded, it sits off by itself so kids rarely use it unlike most other resorts. There's also Scat Cats with Eliot Dyson on Wed-Sun evenings. Then there's the carriage ride at POR, the sister resort which you can use their pools as well, and the boat ride to DTD.

I've stayed at CSR before, and it's not my cup of tea. I'd love to stay at CBR if it had elevators. I perfer to stay on the top floor, so it's out of the question.
