For Florida I buy the unofficial guide but they dont do one for Paris. Is it worth buying the brits guide 08-09 or is this not up to date?

There is not a lot of choice for DLP.
The Unofficial Guide for DLP is reported to be getting a serious makeover as it has not been printed for a number of years. (I've got the original and it is not a patch on the WDW version)
That leaves the Brits Guide as the only current guide that is reviewed fairly regularly.
For the most up to date info the peeps on here will be your best guide book :goodvibes

I second the comment about the people here being the best help. Information on DLRP is best found on the internet to be honest - DLRP Magic is a very good site for information and coupled with these boards should be able to answer most questions you could need the answers to :thumbsup2

If you want a great read the Brits Guide is your book. The current issue will be fine. I think the reason it is an 08/09 book is the info does not change much in a year :).

The boards are a fantastic source of info as well :thumbsup2

Enjoy planning

I've just bought the 08/09 Brit guide book (had some vouchers for WH Smith given to me, so wouldn't normally have bothered). I found it OK, but didn't really find anything I hadn't already found out on the Internet (for example, I would like to have known a bit more about potential prices of the restauarants in the hotels). There is a 20% off voucher for Planet Hollywood in it, though, so if you are thinking of going there, the book may pay for itself in money saved.

When I went to WDW, the Unofficial guide to WDW was much more useful, but I have heard that the Unofficial guide to DLP is very out of date.

I bought the Brit Guide and did enjoy reading it and looking at the photos! :goodvibes I must say though the most useful info I gleaned certainly came from here and I came back from my trip and immediately said they should charge a fee to be a member on this site :lmao:

Having said that, I like something in my hands to read and although I do use the net and research a lot on here, I wouldn't be without a paper guidebook :)

When are you going? Sorry if you've said and I missed it. I ask because Simon (author of the Brit Guide) was on here a few weeks back saying they were off to DLRP to get up to date info for a new edition of the Brit Guide - not sure how quickly it would come out though - not very I'd expect with writing/publishing :confused3

I'm going in aug, I don't think there will be another brit's guide in time. There is a Frommers guide that was published in Jan - anyone read that. I know I'll get the best info from here but I do like to have a book to read too lol.:worship:

I was not impressed with the Frommers guide. It style was very formal :confused3

In my opinion the Brits guide is the best on the market. However i awould also add that it still doesn't tell you everything you want to know. This forum will certainly give you more info. However for ease of a quick guide all in one place the Brit guide will tell you the basics.

Re the Frommers guide - I've never heard of it tbh but bear in mind it too will be well out of date if published in Jan - it will be talking about events from last year and of course, the 15 year celebrations have now ended and Mickey's Party have taken over.... Of course, a lot of DLRP does stay the same but I wouldn't think that just because it was from Jan, that it will be up to date - I don't think they ever can be really because things do change with seasons etc at DLRP....

I wasn't disappointed with the Brit Guide but new it would be limited to some extent - still a nice to have in my hand as I said earlier. I always love reading guidebooks when I'm on the airplane jetting off to the place (read before as well of course!) ;)
