Which is shortest walk from BCV to DHS?

We are excited to stay at the BCV for the first time later this year.

But looking at the route maps from the Beach Club Villas to DHS, I am not sure which is the shorter/quicker route -- along the Boardwalk? or along the Yacht Club, Dolphin and Swan?

It would seem if you were in the Villas, it might be best to walk along the Boardwalk.

But having never been there, done that I am looking to the experts.

Thanks for your help.

I would say from the BCV the quickest way would be by the YC....the other way you will end up going way around the lake and by the BW. By the YC is a more direct route.

I would think that from BCV the shortest walk may be going over the bridge to the Boardwalk and then in the center of the Boardwalk cutting through the pool area to the walking path to DHS.

I've been playing with maps a bit - cutting through the BW lobby seems to save a few steps - going on past the tennis courts may be the shortest route. Without cutting through lobbies, going by the YC is the faster way around the lake. But all the differences are small. Play around with this site for fun:

looks pretty long... think i'll take the boat:)

I agree totally. Having stayed in the Epcot Resort area four times, I'd never make that walk. You do enough walking at WDW. No need in adding that long walk when it isn't necessary.

A few years ago, when we stayed at BWV, we walked back from DHS twice because the line for the boat was extremely long. We beat the boat each time and I'm not sure we would have made it on the first boat anyway. It's not a bad walk back to BWV but BCV seems a bit too long for me.

I hate how long that boatride takes, so I'd probably walk, and for BCV, I think the closest would be over the bridge to BW and then on to DHS on the walking path. It really only takes about 10 minutes from the bridge.

Wendy has it right.:thumbsup2 We rarely take the boat, and have timed it both ways, over the bridge to BW or past the YC. Over the bridge is the fastest, IF you make sure to cut through the pool area. If you walk all the way around to the end of the Boardwalk (toward the Swan & Dolphin bridge) it's longer. To cut through by the pool, there is a little walkway right next to the Wyland Galleries that passes by the arcade and brings you out next to the pool. The only bad part is that you have to pass right by the scary clown to get to the walking path!! :scared1:

Well it IS a pretty walk if you're not in a rush

We walk back from HS to BCV all the time. It's a lot better than waiting at the boat dock. And if it's a nice night, it's very a very quiet walk and nice after a long day of crowds. We usually take the path along that ends up at BWV and walk around it and over the bridge. It seems like a long walk but it really isn't too bad. I don't think I'd do that walk when it's hot, but in March, May and October, it's nice.

I went to the list of abbreviations, and I still can't find out what "DHS" stands for. As Pippin says, "Where are we going?"

::yes::
going there, might consider it (& if mike the birdman wasn't the ferry captain).
coming home, just not gonna happen :faint:

Thanks for the quick replies, information and opinions thrown in for good measure.;)

We'll be there on our anniversary without kids so we may be looking for a romantic walk...of course we are going in August so maybe not so much romance if we're hot, tired and all :scared: !

But if we do go that route, at least we'll know the way.

Note to Self: Do Not (Under Any Circumstances) Look Directly at the Scary Clown!:clown:
